I started using ebid. All the good of the old ebay. They only charge if your item sells ( no listing fees ), and they don't require the ripoff Paypal account. Ebay listen up, not allowing money orders for sellers was the final straw for me. Paypal sucks!

AGREE: It is not safe to sell on eBay for the moment. The revised algorithms (Best Match search) and one-sided rating systems (only sellers can receive negative ratings) have forced THOUSANDS of sellers to find eBay alternatives. What's more, in this economy, PayPal is questionable method of parking your money. PayPal is not a bank and is not FDIC insured. I've seen my cyber friends close stores one by one. Who's next?

I think They Dropped the fees but I still think its not fair that if somebody negatives you some people try to stay away from you and the fees arent to bad I only got charged $0.70 for selling a $30 thing, but then paypal takes another 70 cents out of that. Kinda Gay.

With all the changes (including the recent announced fee changes), all I can say is there are other options than greedbay - eBid being my one of choice. No listing fee's, a very small final value fee, and a good feedback system. Plus you also have the option to use google checkout, PPPay or Paypal.

Buyers surely are taking advantage of the immunity! Why should they care about ebad or the seller, they get what they want for less $ now, or perhaps FREE! Attract more buyers so they BUY BUY BUY, then make them use Payhell so ebad has control over the $. Sellers would be OK with the changes IF it meant more $ for them, but they are losing alot of money! Buyers and ebay are better off by taking advantage of sellers that are getting screwed. Any dummy can figure out how ebay's Best Match Search Engine works (I am just the dummy to prove it). It was designed to work around anti-trust laws. It hides your item if you don't give free shipping. It hides your item if you don't use PayPal. It hides your item if you are NOT a mega-seller.

What I found very, very, very (did I state very?) interesting is the fact that the very first line is "Did you mean 'ebay adding listings?'"--Now click that link! To save time, I will state this. I think that if you were honest about your item description, fair with shipping price, shipped promptly, packed correctly, answered questions before and after the sale, and were polite about it, most people would help you boost your sales by filling in the appropiate information. But if you don't follow through, someone might tell some truth about the transaction. Just be honest. Thats what ebay needs.

Ebay just raised their final value fees significantly, lowered the listing fees slightly, and reported only a "fee reduction". It was a lie to the public. Starting in May, buyers can leave bad feedback to sellers, but sellers cannot do the same to buyers. This is bad because either sellers or buyers can be bad. Ebay just came out with a new DEFAULT search called BEST MATCH that disables many sellers' auctions from ever making it to the top of the list when ENDING!

Once a buyer pays they have completed their part of the contract. PERIOD ..As far as the Ebay and Paypal charges. they have to make money somehow. Many large sellers do all their listing and shipping in their own basements and don't have ANY overhead. Those charges are probably less or a wash to if you did operate out of home.

eBay is not safe for sellers or buyers. I was recently scammed by an eBay seller that paypal is supposedly still investigating. During this time, I have been harrassed by this seller many times.

eBay suspended this person's acount but what surprised me was what was hidden within the seller's feedback page. The seller had many positive feedback remarks; however, if you took a closer look at them, they were not really positive feedback. Check it out for yourself at my channel.

no listing fees - reasonable Final Value Fees - HOWEVER, they don't have Auctions for people to bid on so if that is the only thing you are interested in, I would not suggest it. There are many other sites - some of them are free except for the final value fees. ioffer bidville are 2 of them - I am not vouching, just passing along information.

EBAY will do nothing about this even though it is obvious the item was purchased just so they could leave me a negative. At least I was able to neg him in return, so he is now -1 but he doesn't care, and guarantee you payment will never be received. Thank you ebay for taking care of your Power Sellers!

The man that has been stalking and threatening me for 2 weeks lives at 606 Jackson Avenue-Waxhaw, NC - the order I received this week for $1.49 item was from a newbie (less than a month logo) - the item is marked Payment sent Feb. 14 - I received the negative Feb 15 - This man's address is 606 Jackson Avenue - Waxhaw, NC - so now I am being stalked by the original person and one of his neighbors. At least I was able to leave him a negative in return, small consolation.

Other than that its hard to make money off brand new items because after all you are competing on the world's stage with alot of competition.

I calculated between Listing Fee, Final Fee, and Paypal Fee you are paying on an average about 10% of the total price of the item sold. When your profit margin is not that high and the sale costs you 10% its really difficult. I think buyers have a greater advantage of saving money than sellers making money. Oh well, Ebay is good if you wanna get rid of your crap by trading up for something better and get some money from your old stuff.
