  • Erh, here I came expecting to be taught something new about mirror placement, then I realised it was EXACTLY the same as the adjustment I had to do at my first driving lesson....

  • If a motorist doesn't know this already they shouldnt be on the road

  • woman teaches us to drive. GET BACK TO TEH KITCHEN!

  • @Bahzad23 uggghhh...........you.

  • so this is actually safe? how come the driving schools (that i know of) are not adopting it??

  • @anaerobe

I heard that they are. Specifically, the BMW driving school in California.

I figured this technique out on my own and it works!

  • when parking, you can move your head and body so you can see the ground and back side of your car. Ask yourself what is most important? Safety vs Convenient during parking.

  • How to park using mirrors if you can't see your back sides of your car?

  • @inhibitor001 turn your head around or if you dont have a window in the back of your car like vans i guess use the mirror but that would probably have to be adjusted

  • How to park using mirrors if you can't see your back sides of your car?

  • This technique for adjusting your mirrors helps you get rid of your blind spot. If you don't move your head, then you will end up with a "normal" mirror setup that leaves the sides of your car out of your field of vision.

  • I've been teaching this technique for 35 years and it is a life saver. I would just ad one thing. I teach my students not to be able to see horizen in their side mirrors. This gives them an extra edge and they can now see little kids on tricycles on their driveway. By the way, the so called "normal" mirror adjustment is not normal but it is dangerous. Good work!

  • Why position your head onto the driver's window or the center of the car?

  • @OpCzar It's just for mirror positioning purposes. So, that when you have your head at the normal driving position, your side mirrors start where your rearview mirror ends. It's quite effective.
