  • nice.. Could u upload something about Electronegativity and acids combine 'cuz I heard that there's such a thing like "finding strong and weak acids (Bronstead and Lewis) by using electronegativity of elements" thank you....

  • 28th thumb up!

  • Doesn't the chloride atom shrink a bit too?

  • what grade should you learn this stuff high school college?

  • I learned this stuff in 7th grade (middle school) and again in my general chemistry course in college (most people take it as a freshman, but I was majoring in psych so I didn't get around to chem until my junior year).

  • I dont get it, so there is difference between ion mass and atom mass??? more protons means bigger size?????

  • The number of electrons makes a difference in the "size" of the atom (it makes a small, but insignificant impact on the mass as well). So an Ion can have a different atomic radius than the neutral version of the atom.

  • @sultanthewise There is a difference between sizes of a neutral atom and an ion if the ion means losing the only electrons or electrons in its outermost shell.

If you draw a Lewis structure of Lithium and a Lithium ion, the difference should be clear.

Of course, your post was 3 mos ago, so if you are presently in a class this is all old news.

  • nice stuff
