Correct me if I'm wrong, but Kancho has 9th Dan, not 8.

He's currently 8th Dan which he achieved in the mid 90's, unless, of course Tak Kubota has just recently awarded him his 9th.

Well the past two years, when he was in Europe, and we went to his karate seminarie, he had 9th Dan. And when my friends took the 1st Dan exame; on their certificate sensei Okuyama also had 9th Dan.
