lol. I went to Salamanca once too. Nice, but a bit too dry / desertic for my taste... I'm used to green landscapes and mountains. Anyway, good eating there, specially all pork-related stuff ("ibericos", etc...)
Well I assume that's not a strike here in the U.S . Hint hint I think the truckers in the U,S would do this then gas would once again be more expensive than diesel.
After talking to a trucker the other day apparently this is the best thing that ever happened to him. Used to he was charging a 50% fuel surcharge but NOW hes not being an idiot. Most drivers today haul anything they can get thier hands on. He hauls nothing under $1.90 and charges 100% fuel. He hardly drives and makes a killing. But...i like the fact that the drivers are coming together as a team. Havent seen anything like that in a long time.
Better pay attention to the effects this has on prices in Europe. If this happens in the USA are you ready? If the food stops getting delivered to the groceries store how long will you be able to feed your family?
Don't know in Europe, but prices in Spain have been going up a lot in the last 1-2 years. Shoping cart uses to be 40% more than just 1-2 years ago.
First day of strike 50% gas stations were empty, and markets looked like war was coming. That's because the news said that markets could get empty in 3 days if not stocked. So you guess, dumb-general-panic.
Police scorted fuel tanks to stations these days.
Anyway I think it's ending soon, as I've seen some trucks on highway when coming home.
we had a one of these last week! we are now haveing a fule srike from shell oil for four days.its bad enough haveing to pay £1.33p a liter for gas that must be about $2.70 a liter in US prices.my vw transporter dose about 40 miles to a gallon of disel but it still herts the pocket
OK, keeping in mind that 1 gallon = 4.54 litres, and that I paid 1.27 euros/litre a few days ago (gasoline, but gasoil is at similar price, or even more), that would make it 5.67 euros per gallon. Keeping in mind that 1 euro = 1.57 USD, that would make it 8.75 USD per gallon.
we have 5 litres to are gallon, and are paying £6.65 or about $13.30 for it and now the fule strike is here we can only get 15 litres at a time at the pump, this realy pissed me off as i got to drive to wales im the morning which means i have to go out in the morning again to biy more fule!!!!
This started on sunday night at 00.00, so it's been 3 days now. Maybe it already went on the news, I don't know. This is the borderline between France and Spain (where all the trucks that go and come from europe go), that's why it's more impressive. Anyway it's been 3 busy days here with news about all this.
And I still have not seen this on American TV...Why because the media does not want it to be seen. They are afraid us Americans will be inspired to do the same thing...
Thanks Irreo for posting this, I was wondering if I could cut a few clips from your video. I have the software to do it, but I always ask permission first. I would like to help spread the word. And ofcourse I will give you credit and post the link to your video in the description..I just want to take a few short clips from it.
I think this already ended, as the roads are full of trucks again. Some of them are still not happy but most of them agreed with the goverment offer.
Sure you can take clips. In case you are interested in watching/adding more, here you have some more (not mine, in case you want to ask permission): RUJaUuDjxwg, nKS_M9BkPoo, LpFqq1iPylA, eMsyEeHCJQ8, G3jy1BvEUsY, WiUxf9dScWk, GsQLLvw7xLc.
Those are images from different parts of Spain on these last days.
