I have a 2007 daphne blue highway one single coil stat. Its one of the most sought after strats today. The american standard strat is ok but its no match to the 2007 highway one. The 07 Highway one has better tone and tone versatility and feel and more.

@stratdem I dont think so mate, the highway ones are entry-level US strats and those stock pick ups are totally overwound and dont really sound like a strat at all. By the time you've replaced the pick ups and had a set-up you may as well have paid a little more for a vastly superior US standard

@AndreErtz19 That's why you try it in real life, which is what I did. I had a Squier, then I got this. Overall the biggest difference in "better" guitars is craftsmanship. But you know what? It makes a huge difference! Mine's in a limited edition Silverburst. compared to my old squier, it's so much easier to hold out chords, it stays in tune so much better. Overall, it's just better. And you've really got to go out and try it to realize it! It something you should look into! It's worth it!

THIS IS NOT THE AMERICAN STANDARD STRAT, it' the Deluxe Strat because the Standard Strat has another case and another bridge, a vintage bridge. I wished I could this baby for the price like a American Standard Strat with a case like this and of course a deluxe bridge like this

its a shame korea hasnt crafted a jackson guitar for 15 years now and i'll tell ya they are with out any doubt on of the best crafted guitars ever produced!

the thing is the humbucker is a very fat sounding pickup whereas the single coil is the most basic form of pickup. the single coil is better for clean imo if u want bright, tonefull clean but if u want a dark, thick sounding clean the a les paul may be the way to go. depends on the riff really. the les paul was designes origianally for jazz and for that id use both pickups selected for a buttery thick jazz tone. ur amp also plays a big part but yeh for clean id go for a single coil for metal.

This video is reviewing the American Standard Strat Pre 08 model. The 2008 American Strat is much better. They changed the bridge, the saddles are more vintage style and the also redid the finishing and some other stuff. Oh the hardshell case is also new and better.
