My really small friend who doesnt even way 150 went. The boat accelerated a little too much and he went about 35, and as a reaction of the boat going to fast the driver slowed down way too rapidly

And as far as being dangerous, it alot less dangerous than snow skiing, bungie jumping, sky diving, motorcycle riding, and a host of other activities that you would'nt think twice about doing, including skateboarding, motorcross, demoltion derbys, ect...

The reason they're banned is because they strike the same frequencies as the air and begin to fly in crazy wave patterns making it almost impossible to hang on. The passenger not only falls sometimes as much as 40 feet but also can be thrown by the raft in any direction. At least those other activities have safety precautions. The only precaution for this is to try to land in a way that doesn't kill you when you are falling.

If they were, you'd see in your boat operators manual and/or in your boating regulations that they are. I can almost guarantee that if you look and/or call your local marine police, you'll find out that this is true.
they are not illegal. I live in NJ and called both the marine police and the state police, and they do not have any laws against using them. They were also not banned. Sevylor themselves decided to upgrade them to a newer model with a different name. The round tubes ARE illegal because you cannot control them once they're airbourne.
I flew higher than that on a three person tube, it was only me and my friend tubing at the time and he fell out but the guy driving the boat didn't notice so he kept on going and hit a big wave causing the tube to fly upwards and spin out of control I got flinged off into the water lol it was sooo fun it happened so fast I didn't even realise what happened other people had to tell me

The problem with never going higher than you want to fall is the boat driver kinda is the determining factor. I've been very high before and it was the greatest untill you catch a gust and the thing nose dives straight down. My startigy was to stay with the manta. At least this way you have some cushioning. The boat driver is key. We let off the gas when the guy gets high so you can actually fly the thing a bit instead of just getting dragged through the air.

The problem with never going higher than you want to fall is the boat driver kinda is the determining factor. I've been very high before and it was the greatest untill you catch a gust and the thing nose dives straight down. My startigy was to stay with the manta. At least this way you have some cushioning. The boat driver is key. We let off the gas when the guy gets high so you can actually fly the thing a bit instead of just getting dragged through the air.
