I have entered guitar playing contests before and it seems like its about how many viewers or "votes" you get by your buddies and whoever else you can get to log onto your "site", instead of some "real judges" that aren't bias. Nice work but shredding is traditionally improv, that's a well rehearsed piece.

This was entirely improvised, I just improvise a lot... for example all my acoustic clinics for Faith are entirely improv.

You're saying you've never played to that backing track before, played it this one time while recording and this is what happened. That's what improv is.

You've clearly rehearsed to this backing track prior to making this video.

I improved along to this track twice. The first time I made a mistake (Because I was improvising blindfolded) which I left in for posterity, so I took a second take from a bar before my mistake and finished the song.

"Riffs you've played a lot" - You mean licks, that's right I have written licks which I use in improv.

"never played to that backing track before" - That's right I have never played that BT before, however it is just a standard minor prog in Bb Aeolian.

Classic Stack setting, all the gain, bit of reverb, tone central, no effects... EMG's, a Shure mic and a PreSonus Mic pre-Amp ;-)
