I understand just forcing you to change is not a good way of doing it, they should at least let you choose which one you want the old one or the new one but what can you do :(

that's your profile page. sign in to youtube then go to top right of screen then click your username

Okay Click on Account on a YouTube page, then click on Edit Channel, then you will see a link saying Take Me Back To My Old Channel, click that, if it does not work then YouTube are making you use the new one sorry
