  • @bladestormviking thanks for the tip appreciated it

  • is there anyone has a video of this match that has an english commentary the one that was featured in Botchamania 149

  • @jclem028 ICP did a video called stranglemania 2 where they spit commentary over this match.

  • This would have been must better if it was a Expolding Cage Match.

  • this is what wwe divas are supposed to do

  • yes, this was Toyoda's retirement match

  • If this match's commentary was done by JR and Jerry Lawler then it would have been even more awesome..

  • side note to be added on description of this video, as far as this being the first time these two faced each other im not sure, i know its the first on film but i think they had a few matches while kudo was in All Japan, not sure i could be wrong on this, but i am sure that this is Toyoda last match, kudo gave a short promo on this being a retirement match for Toyoda and said something to the tune of i hope to give her a match she will always remember....

  • Of all the high-quality women's exploding barbed wire death matches I've seen, this one is, well.... this one is it.

  • Cool match. Toyoda sure is ugly. Lol

  • Don't get it twisted...Megumi Kudo was a Hall of Fame wrestler, and Combat Toyoda was one of the most underrated wrestlers ever. Toyoda was a dynamic power wrestler with very a good basic core. Both had no fear. They were born to do this.

  • For that powerbomb: Were they SUPPOSED to land it like that? Holy hell I can't imagine powerbombing a person right onto the top of their head was planned.

  • @darkchiron It was a botch. Kudo was simply not strong enough to properly powerbomb Toyoda.

  • @TheMasterStrategist

actually no, she was strong enough

Megumi used the sheerdrop powerbomb quite often

  • @StarspawnOfCthulhu if she was strong enough how come she couldnt lift her then

  • @TheMasterStrategist

She wasn`t even trying to lift her all the way up because the move is supposed to look like this. A bit like Dangerous Queen Bomb by Hokuto but with more head drop applied.

  • @StarspawnOfCthulhu Please stop trolling on this YouTube page. You have been blocked and reported for repeated, endless trolling.

  • Man, look at how Japan treats their women lol.

  • This is real women's wrestling I mean exploding brabed wire and they took bumbs on their neck

  • This is real women's wrestling

  • <3 Kudo

  • most men don't even take these sort of bumps

  • that was awesome incredible ending

  • sweet sugar ass is the best wrestler

  • @titiln MCL

  • wasn't this Combats retirement match?

  • I never get bored watching this match. In fact, I even saved it as one of my favorites.

  • @Amr3561 that's because Puroresu is one of the few wrestling cultures that still incorporates psychology in their matches.

  • @evilmidget are you an internet wrestling fan circa 1999 or something kid

  • megumi kudo is a hot babe...and Combat toyota looks like an asian Sonia from operation repo.

  • Megumi is a fox! And this is a great match!

  • Megumi Kudo is one of the best female wrestlers of all time. None of these "divas" can step up to that.

  • My favorite women's match of all time.

  • one of my all time favorites

  • Great match. One of the greatest women match of all time. Kudo is so talented.

  • now...what you don't see in this video is that the owner of the promotion runs in with water to cool the women down before they are taken to the back for medical attention....they set Megumi on a table and Toyoda on the floor and Megumi crawls off the table and goes to Toyoda and they are both screaming in pain and crying and reaching out for each other........what a match!

  • @Ansonius77 I just watched it. The post-match stuff was awesome and added to the drama and emotion of it being Toyoda's last match. Onita was great througout. Crying during the match and his dramatic attempts to revive them both with water and slaps and screaming for medics to help them. Megumi using her last strenght to crawl towards Toyoda and reach for her hand before passing out. And finally Onita helping Toyoda to at least exit the last few meters on her own feet. Just great great stuff.

  • 18:41 is awesome

  • Mixture of deathmatch style and technical wrestling. Great match. This match makes me even more interested in women's wrestling. I don't think I could ever see any Diva or Knockout pull off a match like this. Don't get me wrong, there are some talented Divas and Knockouts, but some have a ways to go to do a match like this.

  • Let's see a "Diva" pull that off! Greatest womens match of all time? Flip a coin between this one, and Bull Nakano Vs. Aja Kong in the cage.

  • Mickie James vs. Michelle McCool....exploding barb wire! book it!!

  • Y'know...this is the main reason why no man alive should ever...ever...EVER fuck wih a woman...

  • Holy F**k!! I have seen this time and time Again. . . .and This is truly the greatest women's match of all time!! Kudo. . . Is awesome!!

  • hahaha Combat Toyoda looks like Mimi from the Drew Carry Show

  • That would be FMW owner/Japan hardcore wrestlinglegend Atsushi Onita

  • who is that guy they keep on showing and why is he crying

  • @xena224 Could be Megumi's husband.

  • May 5, 1996

  • AMAZING!! That is all I can say. AMAZING!!

  • WOW, WHAT A MATCH!!!!!!

I have never seen a match this exiting in my lifetime.

  • @AlundraBlayzeFan26

And sadly, I doubt you ever will again. No doubt the fans got their money's worth that night!

  • buen video ni pensar que una mujer fue la que invento la llave vertebreaker

    sigan subiendo mas

  • Without a doubt, this is my favorite women's match of all time. I've seen it several times thanks to owning the FMW King of the Death Match VHS tape, and it gives me thrills every time.

  • Indeed. This is what wrestling should be about.

  • Other than the sheer technique between these two, I really like how the audience was applauding both every time one kicked out of the other's pin. You rarely ever see American fans have that level of respect for both competitors. One of the only times I can think of that happening in a western match was when Hulk Hogan and The Rock went at it at Wrestlemania X8, and with all due respect to them, this match is on a whole different level than theirs.

  • awesome bomb at 21:43

  • Watch the ref at 18:44!

  • Now thats how you do a hardcore match. There's nothing like some good joshi wrestling. 5 stars

  • WOW @ 21:42

  • AWESOME & CRAZY!! Megumi & Combat work SOOO well together and rhose powerbombs by Megumi, near the end, were KILLER!! The look on Onita's face...CLASSIC!! GREAT video & LOVE Megumi!!

  • Best womens match Iv ever seen

  • This is one of the best matches I've ever seen period.

  • Do you think there is anyway that WWE/TNA would EVER let a match like this build for 8 1/2 minutes before the first barbed wire shot.

Here's why this is great wrestling. I know nothing about the wrestlers or the feud, and yet, they've got me sucked in. GREAT storytelling.

  • they're ex lovers and this is mother in law toyota's last match

  • Indeed.

  • That is also because a major part of the wrestling fans in the US expects high action from the beginning. They can't drag it out like in this match, or the fans will just end up shouting "booring" or something.

  • Silly.

  • What I love about Japanese women's wrestling, it isn't all about looks, if you can wrestle, than you can wrestle. Also, these ladies can work the ring, take the pain, and bleed bravely if it comes to that.

  • Every time I watch this I can write chapters about what went right in this match compared to blood mark promotions who don't know jack about how to use violent stuff. I swear this match could have a novel attached to it on how to wrestle. This should be mandatory for anyone esp. Extreme feds, Your objective every match should be to capture what made this one great.

  • Wow. I applaud both of those women sooo much for that match. That right there proved that womens matches can be just as or even more entertaining than mens matches.

  • holy sh....... !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Megumi Kudo has no equal. She's hot and sexy, and just the abosulte best!

  • I agree. This is my first time seeing this match. She is the persona of beauty and power. Absolutely gorgeous!

  • @venomlegions

No better words could be spoken! Pound for pound, she's the best female wrestler I've ever seen, and probably ever will see.

  • this has been one of the most brutal matches that i have ever seen. I am rendered speechless...

  • wat the hell :O

  • WOW,the BEST wemons match EVER 5/5 :)

  • this is the best ever match i have watched since 1972, i like kudo she may be the most beautiful wrestler in the business i want to know her personally, im watching from australia

  • best match ever!

  • notice who's sitting ringside at about 11;36...yup thats the father, creator and perfector of the explosion match,..atsushi fukkin onita..it was his promotion(FMW)after all and this was the first womens explosion match ever....

  • Kudo and Toyoda were the 1st women in Japan to do these kind of matches and not only it was a great match but they both suffered burns and had scars from the exploding barbwire, I give them props for doing this...

  • when i first saw this i couldnt close my mouth. this match is freakn awsome!

  • lol, this match was featured on JCW Strangle-Mania 2 which Insane Clown Posse announced on.

  • This is literally one of the most beautiful wrestling matches I've ever watched. I was on the edge of my seat to the end. Why must Divas/Knockouts suck so much?

  • Let's see who got hit by the barbed wire... Megumi @ 8:30... Combat Toyoda @ 11:18... Megumi @ 14:37 (but no explosion)... BOTH @ 18:44 (WOW!!!). Crowd chanting for TOYODA @ 19:50 and @ 22:00. And it ends with the Kudome Valentine.

  • Wow! They really know how to work a match! Unfortunately the chance to watch something this great does not come up often in the U.S. This is a great match, with great in-ring psychology, they did not need a lot of high-spots to entertain. When done at the right time, this stuff is very entertaining. Oh, and Kudo is HOT!

  • Astushi Onita (the man they feature "crying") didn't want these two to do this match but both girls insisted on having this match!!! After the match both girls were with each other as Onita poured water over them to cool them both off. HATS OFF TO KUDO & TOYODA!!! and it was TOYODA's final match!

  • And THAT's how an exciting wrestling match is made.

To all the American federations, including TNA and WWE: TAKE NOTE.

  • I think yhis match is too extreme for WWE

    this waz awesome

  • not for a WWE pay per view but u would have a lot of ppl saying this is too extreme for regular TV

  • There was a lot more blood and brutality in Mankind vs Taker at King of the Ring, but this was between women and so it was extremely controversial at that time.

  • thats why japanese tv is so much better than american tv

  • I wish they'd stop screaming. They're worse than Melina mixed with that Alfonso guy and his whistle put together for that.

  • LOOOOOLLLLL!!!!!

  • Most Japanese women wrestlers scream during their matches, either to rally the crowd, intimidate or for the heck of it.

  • I know. I think it's mostly that the crowd is too quiet.

  • legendary match...kudo is amazing...this is a perfect example of what death match wrestling should be not just one light tube bump after another

  • One of my favorite matches of all time... for BOTH genders!

  • Ok..Its might just be me, but I think they clipped the barb wire. When Toyata got slammed into it, her back wasn't cut at all. When Megumi got thrown into in, only her arm bled. If it was real wire, they would be bleeding all over.

  • Uh.......yeah, it's called pro wrestling.

  • Yep pretty much :p

  • Megumi's and Combat's backs might have had some protection from their outfits. I just rewatched the match in full screen and noticed that Megumi got a significant burn on her shoulder on the first explosion bump and Combat gets a Terry Funk/Cactus Jack sized burn on her upper arm after the sandwich explosion bump. So, my point is that these girls probably got hurt twice as much by this match as you might suspect because they probably both had burns underneath their outfits.

  • Wwe would never do something like that with the divas...Damn I wish they would. Lol

  • omg - I think kudo really killed toyoda at the end tho - what the heck move was that?

    amazing match tho - omg!

  • That move that Kudo did was her finisher called "Kudome Valentine".

  • Hurricane used to use it too, kryptonite krunch. One of my person favorite wrestling moves along with tiger driver and dragon sleeper...which were BOTH in this video haha

  • hurricane actually called it the vertabreaker, the kryptonite krunch was nova's move.

  • haha thats right I always get the names switched, regardless same amazing move.

  • both moves are amazing.

  • SENSATIONAL!! Japanese female wrestlers KICK ASS & LOVE Megumi Kudo!! A great combination of beauty & skills!! AWESOME video!!

  • GREAT MATCH WOW! how did that pink haired lady kick out of that power bomb? she almost broke her neck!

  • Amazing -- the crowd is so quiet that the wrestlers can't talk to each other during the match to call the next spot (unless there's some sort of code in that grunting)

  • Or maybe they don't talk because theres no reason to talk. If you can lay out a match and not have to remind each other of the next spot, then why talk at all?

  • if you watch you can see them tapping each other to call spots...

  • I've never heard professional wrestlers talk to each other in the ring apart from the usual trash-talking. They know there's microphones all around them, it would be awful for one of them to echo all over the arena "Ok, you dropkick me and I'll run into the electric wire".

  • the best

  • the best

  • Bite Me. Did i spell that correctly?

  • There 2 women showing great wrestling skill better than some American wrestlers and your worried about how good they look? x..x.

  • Kudo is pretty good looking, but who cares about how they look. If you want to want plastic-filled women, watch WWE. God knows they've got plenty of those. This is the greatest deathmatch of all time, and you're concerned about how they look?

  • great

  • This is one of the best matches I've seen. Hands down. Megumi vs Toyoda is a perfect example of a shoot style match. Even if they just wanted you to believe it was shoot. If you know anything at all about wrestling, you have to at least respect the effort given. Does anyone know what happened to Combat Toyota after this match? That is the nastiest powerbomb...

  • That was Toyota's retirement match. I have no clue as to how Toyota could take those last two moves. First she gets dropped on her head from a gut wrench, the gets what we call the cop killa.

  • toyota retired. and kudo isn't ugly for whoever said that. i likes my changs.

  • if this planned;i appreciate it

  • Ahhhhhh I thought you were one of these evil anti wrestling guys who thinks its all gay. If not then I appologise for being defensive.

  • The commentary is annoying as fuck. Usually i like the japanese commentary, but this is unbearable. Its like hearing someones quiet conversation on their cellphone. Terrible commentators, absolutely no emotion in the ones voice whatsoever. Unberaable.

  • Why can't the WWE or TNA or ECW or Ultimate Fighter or even Wrestling Society X be like this?

  • cause they dont want their wrestlers or fighters cut up and or die during the match

  • Ultimate Fighter? Umm, huh? Don't be a dumbass. And WWE doesn't do a match like this cuz they don't have to, theyll be the top dogs no matter how shitty their shows/matches are.

  • That's the sad truth. They were alot better when they had competition from otehr promotions.

  • LMAO @ all the losers who think Japanese or Puroresu/Joshiresu is equal to American wrestling.

  • I dont think that Japanese Wrestling is equal to American Wrestling. I think Japanese Wrestling is superior to American wrestling.

  • i'd like to see you try this, you will be in a wheelchair before the 5 min mark

  • Oh please! Shut up. Its still entertaining.

  • I will considering I'm in collage and got excellent grades in school :)

  • I dobut anyone else really cares excpet for you.

  • I dont care...but i just love being soooooooo RIGHT!

  • if you dont like it, just dont watch it

  • I dont watch it "pepepito" i just wait and sure enough i recieve another infintile reply. Thank you for your contribution. And thank you for your name...lol i had a good laugh with that one...pepepito..lol!!!!

  • You know, you have to be able to spell yourself before you can criticize someone else's spelling ability. I'm talking to you, msintrop.

  • Ok "FICTIONALCHEMIST". Where did i make a spelling error? I see you did not spell my name correctly. It is spelled "Msinthrop" not "Msintrop". The word "Msinthrop" is a name of a chracter in a movie i wrote which is now on dvd.

  • "Recieve" is incorrect. "Infintile" is incorrect. I could get more nitpicky, but I'll leave it at that.

I apologize for spelling your name wrong. I did not press the "h" key hard enough, apparently.

I respect that you're a fellow writer (I wrote a novel), but I think you need to express yourself in a more mature fashion. Theredraven was rude, but it doesn't mean that you need to insult everyone who enjoys the match because of it.

What is the name of the movie you wrote?

  • Notice how he spelt character wrong too.

  • good to see that the small things in life amuse you so much.

  • you can see the emotion in this match I think that was Onita him self watching Man he was vewry emotional not usual onita

  • just curious. why were everyone cheering for toyoda at the end?

  • That's called respect, it was her retirement match and one hell of a match, so WHY WOULDN?T THEY CHEER!!!

  • freaking nuts, no wrestling franchise in the US would do such a thing or the women here wouldn't have the guts.

  • Indy promtions in the U.S. have done Deathmatches before.

  • THE DA GRINGO KILLA OF HOMICIDE IS BASED ON THE KUDO DRIVER OF MEGUMI KUDO (Vertebreaker)

  • Awesome! This is a very good example of a real professional wrestling match. This is not a circus that we know in America with crowded Arenas. Puroresu is great. Megumi Kudo maybe is not the greatest woman wrestler, but she is one of them and the prettiest.

  • The WWE women's division would've NERVER done a match like this. They'd get creamed and unconscious within mere SECONDS.

  • WHOA! What a Finisher! Sick, sick. Best match period.

  • This match is perfect to watch for viewers and anyone who ever wants to know what wrestling should look like. Everything is pretty much flawless. You can stop it at any spot and notice how well it works and how a match should work.

  • megumi kudo is so hot and so awsome,, i wish she was still around and show the ladies in wwe how do it right

  • Nice, but no need to put down CZW in the description.

  • awesome ,but you goota admit, the sound quility is pretty funny

  • A lot of FMW matches on youtube have funny sound quality, I noticed.
