I just got this game yesterday, and it kicks fucking ass. It's clearly paying homage to the old skool days of NES good times, and it's being fun and funny about it. This melody captures the scope of the game so well, it feels so heroic!

I know. The main melody is very different yet the general structure and some of the chords are very similar. The intro and the part starting at 0:34 are the best examples.

@n00bjon It's the normal overworld theme when you're in "grassy plain" areas, so you're going to be hearing it quite a bit.

It somewhat makes me wish there was an 'extended' portion of the song that was more quiet or slower moving, as honestly, for me, the song starts to kinda get on your nerves when farming earlier on before you get access to the other locations which offer their own tune.

It doesn't sound anything like the zelda theme. It does sound reminiscent of older 8 bit games however. On another note though, I love how at the beginning of the game, the king says that because people are just bored of 8-bit games, they're going to turn their world into 3d. The jokes will set themselves up in this one.

@shapeworkstudios1 I want to be nice, but it's a parody that stands on its own, which I think is the point. Listening through the rest of the soundtrack, you hear stuff that sounds like the Dragon Quest overture, Mega Man music, etc. So it's basically a parody of selections of any 8-bit game soundtrack. The use of something that sounds like Zelda sounds tongue-in-cheek.

I LOVE Zelda, it being my favourite Nintendo series next to Metroid, and I'm glad something like this is being released.

It's certainly got an essence of the Zelda main theme, but it's easy to tell that it's its own song, for sure.

@balloon303 What I like even more about it is that the game uses the song in the same manner as all of the Zelda games. Just as soon as you set foot outside, this theme starts playing, unless you go in a spooky dungeon or cave.

Technically, there are no direct motifs of the Zelda overworld theme in here. It simply sounds like it. Though, I do enjoy the fact that the game is satirical in nature.
