  • Absolutly true video. Had the same in Shanghai. The best way to have a good price is just starting wolking away.

  • Great video! But can you have its captions? I really need this video for my class but I don't really understand it. Please! Thanks a lot.

  • -U can even maschinewash or hand wash the shirt :D

Wow. That must be a awesome shirt if u can do that^^

  • What is the point to go to these markets. All they sell is junk! Don't be cheep and go out and buy a real one. No hassle!

  • Everyone says the same things in all the shops "are you wanna kill me" or "ok, last price?"

  • Just "walk away" lol it does really work in china, I know lol

  • it's so much easier to bargain if you look asian, just based on my experience.

  • haha I love it! check out a song me and a friend made about bargaining in China :) /watch?v=B0XqQN2M174

  • LOL they wanted you LMAO

  • Thats a good quality u can washing machine and ur wife can handwash it

  • haahhaha nice vid, man!

  • Oh man. That shirt was not worth buying, much less bargaining for. :P

  • Yea because I seen those same girls at the silk and pearl market 2 years ago and for 5 pairs of Timberlands I only paid 75 dollars

  • I didn't think he did a good job at all. He shouldn't have paid more than 60 RMB for that shirt.

  • The shirt should have cost about 30 yuan less than the 60 he payed.

  • Something are going bad,

    Mabe are The English words

  • LMFAO!!!

  • oh my gotttt !!! lmao :) :)

  • 2 people didnt suceed to get a good price

  • this is hilarious, but so true XD

  • rofl

  • shes funny that girl

    I WOULD

  • "oh my got."

  • i am sure if we pay the asking price, it is still really cheap...

why do foreigners always feel the need to bargain wherever they go,,,

but back home,, prices are set and they will pay top prices without moaning..

can be a laugh, but if serious shopping,, ??? who needs the stress..

  • for the information of all new people who going to china for the 1st time, this kind of bargaining only in some retail markets, wholesale markets is another story

  • Great video, I laughed my ass off. Are the name brand items they sell knock offs, or are they just sold cheaper there since they're manufactured in China?

  • @Azadum Rule number 1 You cant buy branded goods in china (general public).

  • All you have to say: I can get this much cheaper in America.

That might only work for American-born Chinese people, but it always seals the deal.

They just con white people. Always bring a Chinese speaking friend with you. Don't even walk into the shop.

  • i'm going to china and tkz for this i'll remember to walk away tkz

  • i am going to china and i am so afraid of this !!

  • they speak some english too, I'm so surprise

  • LMAO that was hilarious. XDDD awesome vid! : )

  • funny video man!

  • i want to go to XD that was so funny!

  • I went to the silk market in 2008, it was EPIC! I bought a few things, including a wii remote (which was real and worked) and it was way cheaper than back home. Its something like 8 floors, great time.

  • I would say 50% cheaper lar..

  • ahahhahah that's awesome

  • why you very cheaparrah!

  • lol the 2 shopkeepers disliked this

  • YOUR WIFE CAN HAND WASH IT FOR YOU OMG LOOL!!!

  • Dude those chinese salespeople had really damn good english. Last time I went to the pearl and silk markets, they couldn't communicate in english worth a damn.

  • you have no feelings dude. these people really need this money to.

  • @gus2673 hahaha thats what they want you to think... they probably make more than the average american im not even kidding

  • @gus2673 oh please, they make enough money off faggits like you

  • just so u know, that shirt is only worth 2 RMB in China , so even if u bargain bk and forth, it's still profitable for the seller.

  • In China, haggling is pretty much necessary

  • salute!

  • first off just to let you know i am Chinese so i know from experience

if all the store owners are trying to get as much money from you as possible how does anything get sold because most Chinese people are pretty damn stingy

  • the chinese girl , is screaming, !! it looks like that::S:

  • oh my god, this is so typical. I am a chi

  • Nicely done =D

  • best tip: Learn chinese! Otherwise you will always have the tourist-price! Even if you´re happy with it, if you speak chinese to the vendors you will get half of your prices!

  • You guys are freakin good. I used to be like that years ago, but as i'm getting older, i'm mellowing out, and now I just avoid the shopping altogether. "No thank you" or "I'm just looking" is what I've transgressed to...

  • LOL

  • as a chinese I have to say some chinese always make their price higher when they sell things to foreign people than native chinese. That is the defance of Tips on Bargaining.

  • aww i love chinese ppl they r so sweet but not when it comes to money hehe... amazing how they even hold customers by hand... i'd be so turned on if they touch me like that.. hard to say no to such desperate people, i'd also feel sorry for them.

  • My dad went to china and he got a ton of great crap by lying to every one. He'd go up. Ask price. Then tell them that "It's okay, the other store offered a lower price!"

    BAM!! He won every time.

  • haha brings back so many memories.

how many times did you hear "no a joking price?"

  • LOL, i think i will give my punch to chinise seller coz they so rude when selling to custermer..!! i hate HK

  • i remember thoose girls xD

  • "I'm stingy on my clothes so I can treat the ladies right... Eeeeeeeeey" Hahaha XD

  • "i don't even want this shirt"

"but if you want it, how much?"

    lolololololololololol

  • ok, pleeaasse? (guy in yellow shirt)

so funny, i can't wait until i go!!!!!

  • "are you wanna kill me?"

    lololololololo

  • "How tough are you are"? LOL classic

  • As a Chinese I almost laughed at how some foreigners bargain there. Last summer I was walking down the aisles and I saw this black woman from the U.S. trying to buy a Gucci belt. She stared the girl straight in the eye and said FIVE YUAN. FIVE YUAN! That's less than a dollar US. The girl almost laughed and said in Chinese, "idiot, why don't I just give it to you huh?"

Oh man, somebody should make a movie about that place.

  • haha....the Laowais are learning.....

Don't think you can outsmart them, they ALWAYS rip you off. It's a matter of how much they rip you off. That place in Beijing, the "silk market" is specifically designed for foreigners to rip them off. Chinese don't buy there.

  • im goin to beijing soon... god looks so funny lol

  • you boys did very well i got a pair of jordan sneakers from 1200yuan to 100, got it all the way down.

  • its prob fake haha thats china

  • first time i went me and my buddies got pwned by them lol... second time we got the best price... all you have to do is act... everything they sell is fake... they know it and u act like u know that too... then it will be diffrent... also always have someone to back you up, (a friend)

  • that Chinese girl is really nice to bargain with . =P not even rude i buy form her.

  • The chicks are kinda cute & funny. I bought some cheap stuff there but never got the best price.

  • Lol I suck at bargaining. When I was in Beijing, a guy sold me a fucking rubber thumb and a piece of cloth for 200 yuan. 200 YUAN!!

  • when i was over in china in that market they grabbed a pressure point in my hand and i was forced to come in.. it really hurt..

  • I've had so many ladies call me cheap and stingy in HK and China. So funny.

  • If you're not cheap and stingy, then they lose respect for you. It's funny how they operate over there. I'm going back again in August for 4 weeks. Can't wait to go back to the Pearl Market.

  • Don't forget to post some videos!!! I am liking this and learning a lot...I plan to visit next year.

  • cool...bets of luck

  • i laugh so hard when i watch this video.

  • poor asian people...lol..haha very stingy!!

  • this shit is hilarious. thank god ur not bargaining for food cause you'd probably have sliver in it.

btw thx for the great tips

    keep up the good work

  • "how come you are a-cheaper" lol!!

  • can any1 give me some tips for shanghai?

in the US u cant 'bargain' if the price is set.

this 'bargaining' is VERY new to me.

  • u can bargain in shanghai or anywhere from china. good luck

  • I helped a friend bargain from 360, drop down to 50 yuan. The lady said" the person is hard to bargain,I want to kill myself" all in chinese.

  • by the way, the item we bargain for was "silk", well decorated table panel...

  • Haha, I was there over the summer for two months. What I did was 1) speak Chinese, 2) kept the number the same, even when they say "go higher". Also, Silk Street Market is an expensive place to shop. What I have done is exploring other shops in other cities, get the idea of price first, then decide the price to bargain. If you decided to buy jade there, go for 10 yuan. A traditional Chinese dress, 65-75 yuan.

  • im going back to beijing in december and i cant wait to go shopping! =)

  • Im leaving to Beijing in 5days! This will be the 3rd time I've been there.

I agree with you guys from the video! The best way to get what you want is to just walk away! You will easily get what you want at a fairly good price.

Im excited to see all the new clothes, bags and shoes since I havent been there since 2006.

I love shopping in China!!!! <3

  • Best way to bargain in China: Learn to speak Chinese.

Seriously, when I was at the Silk Street in June, I was literally leaving the shopkeepers astounded by bargaining with them in Mandarin (I'm Eastern European mind you).

I was literally able to get any price I wanted that way.

  • yah i enjoy bargaining just recently i got a $40 airsoft gun for $22 at the flea market, ever since then i want to keep going back too see what kind of other deals i can get :D

  • very very very difficult to bargain just dont hesitate to bargain..... a shoe usually start with 40 go till 60 thats it walk away...

  • if ur chinese and u can speak chinese trust me. I have been to beijing. trust me i can speak perfect mando and it works always. Always bargain white folks always bargain

  • lol...hha...you can by what from me???chinglish

  • ur awesome lmao

  • LOL

  • haha, when I go to asia, I just talk in chinese and I get 50% off immediately AHAHA

  • you bloody idiot, cant believe you did this monkey job, imaging if you are the trader and people does this to you what you gonna do?asshole...

  • yeah funny!

  • How about you don't become a sucker for prices? China? What's the difference with those markets than the ones in Manhattan for instance?

  • pretty good, it is like fighting , oh my dear.

  • haha, that was funny!^^

  • HAHAHA. I am Chinese this is good, and how your suppose to do it. You do it way better than me though, i need to learn from you =P

  • When I was bargaining in China they would tell me: "You cut me! You cut me!"
