I always wonder why hasn't anyone stated he has no side mirrors. Its is my only complaint about all three figures. I guess everyone is just too exited to have them they forget how awkward it looks in car mode due to missing mirrors. or are they not supposed to have them?

i hav a question with all the figures u hav r u gunna make a stop motion film cuz that would be amazing with all the transformers u hav it would be EPIC like beginning of the series to the end like a 10 part film i kno it would be alot of work but it would bring u alot of viewers and subscribers u kno and all the ppl u talok about in some episodes can help u but im just throwing it out feel free to say no but i think it would be a great idea

optibotimus, red alert only had a red face in the G1 episode "Auto Beserk", the rest of the series he had a normal grey/silver face. Just thought I'd point it out.

Great video review, I went ahead and had Josh paint the head on my Red Alert. He did a great job and sent back an awesome red head for a more accurate G1 look. Thanks again for the tip. Keep up the good work!

Red Alert is the first and only version of this mold that I have and transforming his arms from vehicle to robot is always a challenge and originally made me dislike the figure. However the figure has started to grow on me and I like it alot.

Great review! Just picked mine up a couple of days ago and like you, I was dissapointed with the black head. Still looks amazing and I love this figure! I'm going to email your friend to get my head painted. I'm a little worried shipping such a small piece though. It would suck to have something happen to it or not get it back for some reason. It would really suck to have a headless red alert let alone a headless transformer. Thanks for the great review! Cheers!

I like the red(painted)head/swap. If you have an extra scope from ARCEE TF universe(motorcycle) It looks good in REDALERTs hand.

@RodimusMinor1987 If you unscrew the small screw in the back of Red Alert's head, you can separate the two halves and it'll come off easily without any wear to the plastic. =)

Hey Optibotimus, try a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to clean up that over spray on his chest. If that doesn't work sometimes a pencil eraser will. Really like your reviews.

I have both the American and the Henkei versions of Red Alert. I thought about switching the heads but....they're both just so nice!!! Side by side they almost seem like two different characters!

@burningsirius I wasn't really experimenting...i've done it before. I do it when i don't need to transform a figure since i've done it multiple times already. Most people already know how to transform this particular mold. The "elevator music" as you call it...is actually fairly well known music from the Ghostbusters movie

i painted the head on mine with some red testors paint. its really simple, and satisfying to do it yourself. the head just screws off.

@paradeal i just used testors red enamel paint. ( red 1103) its really easy, get some tape to cover the face, maybe yse an exacto knife to cut the tape to only cover the face, and sipmply paint the black head with the paint. give it a few coats if needed waiting a few hrs in between each coat. its not difficult at all, and it will look great, and best part is you did it yourself! so dont be afraid, just use a fine tip brush, small amount of paint and take your time!

Very cool review. Its cool that your friend painted the head red for well Red Alert and it does make him look awesome. Weird thing is I planned to do the same thing when I get mine. Oh one thing I did realize and maybe you did too is that back in G1 the original Red Alert toy did have a black head (wow a zit pun) when released.

Thanks for a great look at a great looking transformer. As a kid I had a G1 Sideswipe. Red Alert was not my favorite character, but the toy was cool.
