When it comes to videos of talks in academia, it's generally a safe bet to skip to the 5 minute mark. It usually takes about that long to get through all the requisite "credit accounting". "He did this... and also he did that... and ...". I used to listen to it, thinking "Get off the stage, you fat blob, and let the speaker speak". But credit accounting in academia is like a paychecks for the rest of us. The speaker is entitled to it. So now I just skip to the 5 minute mark.
