  • That's Sonic Riders!

  • @Kelvin4335 Huh? Are you responding to someone? What's sonic riders? Not the game in the video, that's for sure. This is Antigrav.

  • If I knew about this game back in its time, I TOTALLY would have gotten an eye toy.

  • Damn, this game is a heck of a lot more awesome than I remember, haha.

I ought to break it out sometime and try to get my Eyetoy to work for once.

  • I can't believe someone linked to my Video on Kotaku. Pretty cool. Too bad I was banned for saying Tim Rogers articles are Tl;dr (hire an editor, or AT LEAST get your friends to help you be more concise)

    Amazingly petty.

  • your really good,

i always ran into walls with the demo

    that came with my eyetoy.

  • This game was so cheesy now that i see it.

  • ive got this game too :)

its very cool, i love it

  • Yeah. I think it's funny project Natal is coming out and people are all like "Oh, it can scan your stuff so you can use it (like Eyetoy Cameo) and you can move your body like you're on a skateboard (like Antigrav, except Antigrav is an Airboard) and how amazing and new those things are. The only thing remotely new about project Natal was Milo, and a lot of people think that was fake.

If Milo is real, though, Microsoft deserves props for that.

  • lots of people thing that natal has an edge over the PS eye and its motion controllers. those peoples have forgot that the eye can do the same stuff as the natal and with its teck can most likly do the milo thing. they think the notion controllers are the only thing the eye can scan and use wich is not true.

  • Plus with the glowing dildos PS Eye will be able to do anythign Natal and the Wii can do.

Oh yeah my PS3 can't shut down without me saying goodnight to it because it has no voice recongision but oh well I can allways press the Off button.

  • @RandomDirectors

Yeah, and you can't play third of first person shooter games on Natal...

  • look, eyetoy was very different then natal...

I mean I understand why a lot of peopledont get why, but you have to look deeper.

With the eyetoy, it only had a camera and a mic. It used 2d motion tracking for all of its games, which is extremely limited.

With the depth camera on the natal(along with a rgb camera and mic), it allows FULL 3d motion tracking of your body and other objects if the game can use it. Its trully amazing, but its hard to understand kind of.

  • No... The 3d thing is actually quite small. Most of the things Natal does can be done without the second camera. What's more important than being able to see in 3d is being able to recognize symbols. Things like faces, hands, gestures... These aren't something that can magically be done by making it 3d. The biggest "wow" factor you get from Natal was already possible with the 2d Eyetoy, and anything needed for 3d is made possible by the full 3d tracking Wand. The wand acts as a 3d marker.

  • ok...your wrong.

In the ricochet demo, you could move your whole body anyway you want, move you hands, bend your knees, walk foward, etc. and the character in the game would do the same exact thing in real time. you need the 3d camera for that...you cant do that with the eyetoy.

  • But you can do it with the wand, though. The wand essentially becomes the second camera, and WITHOUT the need for an expensive IR camera. It achieves it by having something very simple (a ball on the end of a stick) as a reference point. If the ball is further away, it will look smaller to the camera. Ditto for the reverse of that.

Everything else about Natal they made a big deal about is all about software, not hardware, and that includes things like face recognition. No need for 3d for that.

  • I'm tired of arguing with you... If you don't see that taking the Eyetoy concept, and buying out the company that improved on a webcam isn't all that impressive, then you're a complete MS fanboy. Natal IS an evolution of Eyetoy. The face and gesture recognition is from eyetoy, all the other stuff is just an evolution of that, and this "completely different" nonsense is really absurd.

    Have a nice day.

  • @1crazyboy7

Don't be hypocrite, the point is that for both EyeToy and Natal you don't need controller...

  • @1crazyboy7 you need a $5,000 mo-cap suit with even more expensive software, and multiple cameras to have true full body motion.

  • @1crazyboy7

Seriously dude. Listen to them. don't go placing all your chips on Msoft just yet. They have not made anything new or revolutionary here. They have merely taken Sonys idea as their own and legally justified it by adding a depth camera to their setup. The software its identical to Eyetoys and the implementations are as well.

Don't go backing up a company that used money to force itself into the gaming market only to fuck things up hardcore for game devs.

  • this game rocks i used 2 av it

  • I know, I haven't played it since I got my PS3, but this video's making me nostalgic... Plus, I'm trying to lose weight, and eyetoy games are great at that...

  • Is Sonic Riders based in this game?

  • i have this game

  • i dominated that by 65000 and the black rock ridge. i got 225000 points

  • The cars seem to be completely random... When they don't show up, I nail those targets perfectly...

  • OMG^^ i am way better

  • That's... nice... This was, um, my second day playing, so yeah... I'm nearly certain I got better, too...

  • ur good

  • sorry, dude, I haven't been able to see your second message... I'm not getting any of my comments anymore...

  • dont try to dance =)

  • Only if you don't try to comment ^u^

  • mmk!

  • alot of people had problems playing this game.

    Here's a fix i discovered:

instead of putting your face in the empty area of the calibration screen, put your forehead in that spot.

it tracks alot better and doesn't cause errors when you do something you shouldn't do. you can walk away from the camera, jump back in and everything will be fine.

    from the antigrav master.

  • Hmm... I'll have to tell people to try that, but what I've noticed isn't as much problems people have with losing their tracking, but not being subtle enough in their movements... They want to flail wildly back and forth...
