Babies do not have sin and baptism is for the remission of sin. A baby is not a candidate for baptism because they have a perfect relationship with God. Tho born with the consequences of Adam's sin, Jesus said unless we become and little children we cannot enter the kingdom of heaven. We know eventually the child will grow to want to chose his own will instead of Gods will they break that bond and God loses them to satan. Jesus redeems us sinners. One can't buy back what one did not own.
