apologies, was a bit drunk at the time, couldn't read properly as I was literally falling out of the chair. Amazed it even made sense. the typing is so much better than when I am sober ! Anyway ROB PATTINSON, be still my beating heart.! So refreshing and untouched by hollywood and soooooo bloody well handsome. Seems like I have an itch that needs scratching and he is the man to do it. aaaaaah
Do Americans not realise how easy it is to do American accents?
It's not only easy it's contagious, 5 year old kids do it watching TV, I slip into it in the company of Americans, and I still can't get out of my head the way some Uni lecturers from the US would pronounce things.
What you have to realize is that not all American accents are the same. Like other countries there are different dialects. In England there is the Cockney accent, British Renounced Pronunciation and even London has it's own dialect. It's not difficult to pick different accents if you're listening to them constantly.
Yeah, but not everyone can do it and make it sound authentic...I mean for me as an American I find easier to do a British accent than a NY accent...that's all I meant.
Another thing i notice is that Americans tend to extract the 'u' in some words like favoured or colour or neighbour. Strange how we have a difference in spelling. Like in Britain and apparently Australia we use 's' insteady of 'z' in words like realise or sympathise.
Oh my god. "I hope you're enjoying New York, my family is from there SO KNOW IT'S BEAUTIFUL"
Only an American could have said that - I've lived here for 3 years now and I still can't get over the arrogance some people (most people, actually) demonstrate. Geez! And he's polite enough to say "thank you". What a good guy - I would have pissed off so many people already if I were him, lol. It's a good thing I'm not. He's so much better behaved :)
Such typical American terms 'Sidewalk' is the first American word that pops into my head followed by 'Jello'. I was so amazed to find Jelly is Jello and Jam is Jelly.

You kidding?
Of course we know that, I can't understand a word of the Americans on Springer. I like Boston accents and some southern ones.
Some of your TV presenters have icky twangs - ET especially. And we hav emore poms in austrlia than any other nationality, we get the accents.

Received, not Renounced. Aka the Queen's or BBC English, but it's spoken by like two percent of Brits.
