psp i think is slightly more powerful than a dreamcast. the problem is, to get an emulator running at decent speed, the system your emulating on has to be 3-4 times more powerful than the system emulated. sometimes 2 times more powerful if your good. whoever gets dreamcast to work on psp is a genius.

There are tests with NullDC on psp and they slightly work jst fps are pretty low =/

Not really. The CPU architecture is different, so comparison via clockspeed alone is inaccurate, and furthermore the GPUs are completely different.

To emulate a console's hardware the way in which the GPU renders things has to be emulated as well, iirc. As the DC used a very non-conventional GPU (with support for TBDR, among other things not supported by PSP GPU), such a thing might be beyond the capability of PSP. N64 emulation is easier on PSP simply due to the processors being related.

Also DC, by virtue of game development at 480p, has a more powerful GPU than PSP, which is locked at 272p for PSP games for reasons of TV output not coming until PSP 2 but also because developing at that lower resolution hides the power deficiency of PSP (the games look as good as they do because of the fact their developed at 272p, and thus less resource intensive for the CPU and GPU).

Grimga - You can play rival schools on the PSP - but it has to be the PSX version. I converted the PSX image file to EBOOT and play RS Evolution all the time when I'm flying. SWEET!!!

Yeah, mee too! XD I love that game! I also bought a Dreamcast recently so am playing Rival Schools 2 (you can play on your PC as well with Chankast or whatever its called). A very under-rated game IMO - plays VERY well for a 3D game from that era.
