I guarantee that everyone talking shit about Newark on this video's comment board has either never been to Newark or has a warped interpretation of what "inner city" means.
The arena is in downtown Newark, amid skyscrapers, banks, and colleges... It is very safe around the arena, and to prove it, a stat was released after the 2007-08 season saying that there hasn't been a single violent crime in the two square mile area around the arena since it opened... And that statistic still stands.
I just went to my first game at the arena. I think I would have enjoyed it but the $100 seats were so cramped I was uncomfortable - if you have sat in anything but the luxury seats you have to ask "what were they thinking"...and the drink holders, not only make it more cramped but are poorly designed so that my soda kept falling out...won't be going back...
You all are fucking retarded. That section of Newark is as safe as it gets. route 21 and 280 are right there too, so if you break down it'll be within the "safe" area. I live in Newark all my life, and it's hard to be a white kid in the city but I've never been attacked in any way. Cars have been broken into, but I've never been mugged, jumped, or even threatened. If you don't look for trouble, you wont get into it.
im a huge devils fan, love the prudential center and newark, but the seats are def NOT bigger.. unfortunately they are smaller than the ones at CAA. The bigger seats are down in the lower bowl and especially the 6 "Club Seat" sections. That area of Newark is very safe and especially on event days there is a great police presence. Night and day over the meadowlands. Taking the train to and from is what I've dreamed of for years.
Tis is a fantastic place, I live in NWK in the ironbound seccion, there is still, a lot of work to do because NWK is still a ghost city many of the buildings around the arena are empty cause no one wanted to live there
Fuuck all u ppl talkin shit about newark this is jus a better home for the devils i am black and i do watch hockey and i am from newark....keep talkin shit and yall will need bullet proof hats
Alright first, it's a beautiful building with nice architecture, but it has a very small seating capacity (17 500) compared to the Bell Center (21 500) and offer a "bad seat." East Rutherford was a better place but it probably wasn't as accessible. The new goal horn is even weaker than the old one, but that's less important. I wish Scotiabank place (20 500) had better better access.
yeah I heard that the seats were deliberately designed to be extra uncomfortable with the sole intention of keeping the seldom spotted devils fans awake during their games
I agree 100%, we should be at exit 16w where we belong. Being in East Rutherford, where the REAL hockey fan are, it would make our new home that much better... LET'S GO DEVILS!!
The CAA wasn't a bad arena, it was actually pretty nice because it was so spacious. The only thing that stunk was the sightlines, but that is my opinion. I have to say, this new arena looks like it kicks ass. But this will also be a testing ground to see if the reason why the CAA was never sold out, simply because the CAA was miles away from residential neighborhoods. Because if they don't sell out this one continuously, then I would have to say the Devils fan base is unworthy.
after a long 9 game road trip. But I am very excited about the Prudential Center. All Atlantic Divison rivals will loose all 4 games at the center. I am sure of it.
as a ranger fan, i must admit it looks nice. it'll sure be easier to get to, and nicer to be in, compared with continental airlines arena. gomez can't wait to go!
the rock is a great arena its so easy to get there from trains/mas transit

Nothing beats the 10$ tickets an hour before the game. Not a Devils fan, but I'm not going to pass up the chance to see a game for 10$!

the only reason this new areana has less seats is because the seats are bigger.and the club seats(black ones)are even more bigger.

I don't want to sound like a spoiled brat but I love tailgating. BBQing , street hocky, all the pre-party and fan bonding of tailgating.
I wonder if there could possibly be any of that to the extent that there was at the Medowlands?
Anyway, I'll be there, routing for the home team ( with my nose bleeding and with binocculars , in the less expensive seats.)
Hope there's a smoking lounge, I am a spoiled brat!
rangers suck!
