The Original is from the 'StudioB sessions" Charlie with the Benny Goodman Sextet. Count Basie, Lionel Hampton, Benny G, Charlie C and the gang -- immortal stuff. The material, was releaed on Colombia (CK40846) as part of the "Jazz Masterpieces" series. There are books with transcriptions of Charlie's solos, too,
Awesome! I love your playing. I was just wondering, could you (or anyone) PLEASE send me the recording that you transcribed? I'd like to transcribe this solo for an assessment that is coming up soon but I can't find the original.
Great !! but help ! I am looking in vain for the tabs of this. I began to do it by this video (slow version, yes I am not maso ...!) but it's a bit long ... and uneasy. Do you get it ?
Esa es una George Benson? Yo es que tengo la GB10 con el sombreado marrón oscuro, pero juraría que esa es una George Benson. Por cierto, has visto su nuevo modelo GB30? Es preciosa...
The incredible Charlie Christian Website you got the music from seems to have vanished! I just get a page forbidden message? I'm gutted, finally found the time to start learning more about his music and the best resource has vanished?
@Wanielyo You can find a PDF version of the Charlie Christian website by typing in "charlie christian transcriptions" on the google search page. Third link down as of 11:46 EST 8/20/2010. Good luck.
Yo estoy estudiando el mismo tema y puedo dar fe que es duro,es admirable que lo puedas tocar casi al ritmo original sin dejar de articularlo con mucha clase mis mas sinceras felicitaciones y un saludo
Your sound is AWESOME. Its amazing just how strong Charlie's influence is today. He was w/out a doubt way ahead of everyone & even still today I think.
could you do the best bridges of swing to bop???

Don't know if anyone else has noticed but playing this falls better under the fingers if you use mostly down strokes like Charlie.

Hey!
Thanks for the video! It helps me a lot to learn this song.
But I have one question. How fast did you play the slow-part with the metronome. Is it on speed quarter note = 100?
