  • Thanks for asking @derrickwarriors. I had found my uncle lifeless on the floor of his house. He had a stroke and he was into a coma. No big chances from this moment, because his brain was destroyed too much. (too little oxygen for a too long time) Then he died at the hospital, after 6 weeks in a coma. Just a few hours before he died I had visited him fo the last time. Next month is his 50th birthday. May he rest in peace!

  • Hey, just to let you know, you are God blessed. you have been blessed my God, and God has given you a second chance to start anew. make sure you treasure it. my father's had 2 major strokes in a month, and he's unconscious for 3 months now. i pray for my father everyday, for him to regain his consciousness and respond to me and my words, so that at least he knows i love him, and i'm sorry for all the things that i did. i pray that he is able to tell me one day, that it's alright, son,it's alright.

  • A few weeks ago I´ve lost my uncle after a stroke. He was in coma for a long time, but finally his heart was not strong enough anymore. I wished he had a real chance for a second life. Be proud of your development, and I wish you all the best for your future from the bottom of my heart. - m@tj3s

  • @matjesworld hey, sorry about your loss... just asking, what happened to your uncle?

  • Very inspirational Daniel. A close colleague I work with had a bicycle accident a few weeks ago and he is still in a coma. He went out for a test ride on his new racing bicycle and somehow ended up wrecking. Perhaps a helmet would have made the difference. Keep on keeping on Daniel and thanks for the video...

  • Great vid!

  • brain damage is so shit! In the same boat after a 30ft fall resulting in TBI 8 months ago.

    Gd vid mate

  • Oh great video, watch some of mine too!

  • what was it like to be in a coma? do you remember anything?

  • Just immagine being in complete darkness while your feelings and all of your senses are being puled through caves and obstacles and you are hitting everything in your path full speed and when u do you see red in a sea of black. There's a point in a come where God reminds you of your mission and if you lose focus you will forget the mission in Gods words. That's what its like to be in a Coma. I heard everyone I felt everything I was concentrating in another dimension

  • So ur saying...it was basically like ....u were completely awake..but just that ur Eyes were closed..and u couldnt move?....but yet completely awoke???....is that what it was like???

Second question- IF that is the case...then...do u have periods that ur not "awoke" anymore and you sleeo,,,..(as if you were not in a coma)...???

  • You're kinda hot.

  • i agree

  • You seem to be doing well. that's good to hear. Thank GOD for everyday he gives you on this earth. Never take the little things for granted.

  • Hey man, I was super excited with your videos. Know that I am Brazilian, and from now I am your fan, as witnessed by np youtube videos of your perseverance, your fight. Never give up, fight every second of life second, third, or how many there are, but do not give up, you have people here from across the world cheering for you and asking God for protection for you and your family. A Abrasive man.

  • many thanks for all the great comments!

  • i hope you will be someday like you were before the accident many kisses

  • aww get better soon this touched me x its so suprizeing

  • hi Daniel. i'm glad you're doing better and making progress. i had TBI at age 8 or 9, was in ICU and had a trachea for several months, couldn't speak, eat or drink by mouth but through a g-tube and i was straped in to a wheelchair.

i was crying a lot b/c i didn't understand when i was told i'd proobably not walk. i was on med. taking prozac for several years of depression. i've lost basically all my friends and things looked grimmed.

  • i'm 22 now and things have gotten better. the things in the past are no more. my ultimate goal's to walk independently.

don't give up man. life may look hard and you wonder why this happened, but we can't change the past so don't dwell on it. instead look towards the days ahead of you having faith and hope in God you'll see a change.

  • you're in my prayers. all the best.

    - Phil

  • sorry, but i can´t remember a thing!

You look like your on the right track with your outlook and your family being there. I still don't remember names well, but repitition helps. You have people there but if you ever need a word from somebody that can relate to some things you might go through, give me a shout. I was lucky.

  • I'm sorry to hear you lost friends.

I had a colleague in high school who was in the same type of accident, and it made me sad to hear about it.

I'm happy you're making steady improvements, as it is possible.

  • Sorry to hear that you lost some friends. Those who stayed and continued the relationship are true friends. I don't know if the earlier pictures of the woman was your sister but she seemed to be helping a lot. Bravo! Disabilities are never easy for anyone. My sister was born with mental disability and has lost friends along the way. Courage!

  • the song at the beginning is called the vast gigantic sea and it was written and performed by my sister, there are some performances of hers on amelia 49th account.

  • This is truly amasing. And to kourtkourt -- he writes the songs at the end.. if you watch it all the way through.

  • I've been watching your videos and commenting on a few of them. You seem like such a great person, I'm so glad you've made and continue to make so much progress in your recovery. I noticed in one of your pictures you had a Warcraft tee shirt on!!! Do you play at all? If you do we should totally play sometime!

  • Hi Donnie,

Now I cannot play warcraft myself.I am too slow. But both my brothers play!

  • With you're seemingly limitless courage and determination to get better, and all the advances in science I personally believe that you'll be not only be able to play warcraft again one day, but also do so much more. Even though i just found out about you yesterday, your story has really touched me and you have a new friend. Never give up, I look forward to the day we can do some online gaming :)

  • Hi Daniel, Thankyou so much for posting these fascinating videos into your life. We've all really enjoyed getting a peak into what it's like to be you. I love all of your videos.

It takes incredible inner strength to come as far as you have in this fight. God bless. I'm your new subscriber.

  • Dear Daniel,

My son has cerebral palsy and severe language and motor issues. Based on your video and several others my husband and I watched on Youtube, it gave us the courage and resolve to treat him with HBOT. We recently ended our HBOT treatments and saw wonderful results- more language, much better balance and motor skills - he can RUN AND JUMP. Thank you for your terrifc video and for helping us make our decision!! It was life altering to say the least.

  • it´s wonderful that your son made this progress! I hope to help others with my videos just as other people helped me.All the best!

    dani

I'd like to rephrase that "You are an inspiration to all people"

  • wow thanks, it´s an honor to be called an inspiration!

  • Thank you Daniel for posting this video account of your recovery. My 20 year old nephew was in a car accident while driving home on leave from the Army on Thanksgiving Day. He is still in a facility that deals with brain injured patients. You give me hope seeing you walk since he isn't able to yet but working hard at it. His hands are just like your too. • Go you!

  • you are persistent, as I said before. that is key.good luck with ALL my friend :)

  • :(...

  • I FELT YOUR PAIN AS A FELLOW TBIer .......

we have the same wrist :-)

  • wow, keep your head up man - to everyone that has had this and similar misfortunes (like i see in the comments), i give you all my greatest respects. to deal with this kind of de-railing in life must be super hard. i appreciate the simpleness of health in my own life because of your experiences. it goes to show how delicate we really are.

  • Unlike so many my coma was due to seizures. At one point the doctors were giving except. My mother was told i would be the mental capacity of a 1-2 year old. That was when i was in the 2nd grade. Needless to say i have proven everyone wrong. No matter what got in my way i became defiant and conquered. However due to complications and what people think is safeguarding me leads me to just remain at home w/ limits. Society is cruel however only through each one sharing their story will they see.

  • I was involved in a car crash and went into a coma. I couldnt adjust to real life when I came out of my coma, what happened to me was i woke up in 1983 although in reality I was lying in a hospital bed in 2005. Well dont ne way dude

  • WOW!

  • Hello I suffered a TBI in 1989 I was in a coma for 3 weeks. I have received 2 Masters Degrees but cannot get a job to support my wife and 2 daughters. I am slower physically and cognitively and with my processing of new information. Society is very CRUEL! I have done everything to erase any barriers I have as a result of my tbi but cannot get a job that supports my family.

  • What an inspiration!! I was in a very bad car accident when I was 18, 2 years on and i am still recovering. Physically I am almost there, mentally - it is a challenge every day! It is such an ordeal, and very painful. What a great job you have done! 2 thumbs up to you!

  • I suffered a TBI when I was 18 years old, I was in a coma for 3 weeks had to re-learn everything. I graduated from a major big ten university with my BA in 1996 and got my first Masters Degree in 2000 and then a second in 2007 and still cannot get a job. I run and exercise daily and I just had surgery to improve my voice you would never know I had a TBI but I am slower processing and thinking but society is very cruel and unforgiving.

  • Keep up the good work. Our daughter is coming along well. We hope to bring her home from rehab on July 4, Independence Day here. Heather's Mom

  • It's a long struggle forward, but it will be worth it, my grandaughter struggles everyday at age 3 with over coming her stroke(was in a coma at 10 months old after cranial surgery), just remember the love of your family and true friends are there through it all. Your sister's music sounds alot like "Fleetwood Mac" style.

  • Way to go Daniel. You are a strong handsome young man. I wish you all the best. I have a question for you. When you were in the Coma...were you aware of people and noise around you in the hospital? I'm asking you this seriously because of my daughter. Thank you in advance. My love goes out to you and your family.

  • I cannot remember the time of the coma, because my short term memory was gone.bur I am sure I responded to my surroundings from what my parents tell me.What happened to your daughter? best wishes dani

  • She eventually passed away after about a week and a half in a coma. Thank you

  • Hi Daniel ! I'm really impressed by your work! My best friend, Marc Tolomeo, crashed in front of me while skydiving (I was the videoman of his relative work team). I thought he was dying in front of me that day, but miraculously survived. It happened in 2003. Now he can go skiing, even with half a paralysed body. I send you one of my vids about him. So you're not alone! Wish you could talk with Marc too. Best regards from Switzerland! "Gibolin"

  • You still amaze me. How is the walking going - still working hard? It will all pay off. That very last picture of you is amazing you have come so far!!! CONGRATS on your accomplishments - - keep up the hard work!!
