  • Rita's my idol! ♥

  • Rita was past her prime in her career but she was still a beauty. I heard once she fought for this role.

  • does anyone know where I can get this movie free online?

  • Rita Hayworth era foda.

  • awesome!

  • I read how plastic was put in the breast area of the dress that Rita wore in the movie,"Gilda" during the "Put The Blame On Mame" song number, so that it wouldn't move when she raised her arms, I noticed that this dress doesn't move too, the costume designer must have used the same trick.

  • @darlinkula1 Designer Jean Louis designed Rita's gowns for both Gilda and Pal Joey.

  • @charcas67 Thank You! I did not know that Jean Louis designed this gown, if you see the video for the Joan Crawford film,"Queen Bee" Jean Louis designed a dress similar to the one that is featured in this Pal Joey movie clip. Jean Louis was married to Loretta Young in the last part of his creative life. TAKE CARE!

  • Too bad Rita didn't do more dance numbers like that in the 1950s! It's perfect! Hermes Pan did a fantastic job with the choreography, too!

  • Ótima qualidade! Parabéns!!!!!!

  • Do you have lyrics to this song?

  • i love it

  • I love Rita <3 She was amazing in every role in every movie!

  • Rita didn't NEED to be dubbed. But it was one of many ways Harry Cohn (the Columbia Pictures tyrant) tried to put her down. No song in any of her films required a "big" voice. And on the few occasions her own voice is heard--TV appearances--she sounds exactly like...Jo Ann Greer or Anita Ellis, the two ladies who dubbed Rita. Sad, really. At least Zanuck allowed Marilyn to sing. (Though he demanded she come to his office and sing "Diamonds" because he couldn't beleive it was her.)

  • is it true that rita hayworth didn't sing her own songs? I don't think so.

  • Beauty and brains - my favourite kind of woman!

  • I love Rita Hayworth. What a beautiful Latina lady.

  • could somebody please put on the lyrics for that?!?!? thank you so much :)

  • @VoiceNoFace there are many different versions of the lyrics - and they are all brilliant. The original lyrics are racy so they toned it down for the movie. :(

  • Oh Rita. Pure bliss!

  • Rita Hayworth was so beautiful. I love her dress!

  • she is working a simple dress like crazy! talentt!

  • lol I don't think it was too hard to act for Sinatra in this part ... she's so stunning =D

  • I love how even though she's supposed to be the matronly older woman, Rita still has sex appeal to spare. I for one thought she effortlessly outshone that colorless little Kim Novak! Kim Novak is practically forgotten, but Ms. Hayworth will always be a legend.

  • I wonder why they changed the lyrics from those in the play... seems unnecessary

  • This is one of my favorite movies of all time. I actually watched it yesterday. A star in my DVD collection, and Frank Sinatra has always been my hero...

  • They don't come any cooler than Frank!

  • This is one scene I'll watch over and over because she's so fun to watch while she does her dance and the song is catchy!

  • Rita is perfect too bad that her own voice can't be heard but the studio won't let her sing somehow her voice is not too bad i've heard it on a tv show with carol burnett she had the same problem than Ava Gardner on show boat !!

    JMB

  • I could watch this movie( and this scene in particular) for over 1 million times and yet I wouldn't get tired of seeing this! Amazing! Love Rita Hayworth! She was the icon of an era!

Sinatra needs no comments, also. :D

  • i've watched it like, sixx times in a row.

no one holds a candle to her.

  • Yeah! :D

  • @DerAdventurer She was a real STAR! It's a shame she died of Alzheimers Disease and no one knew it at the time..

  • They *don't* make them like this anymore

  • the end of an era

capitol records is now posting so the fun is over

  • I've always loved that dress and she does the dance so well without even having to take much off.

  • Now, that's a sexy striptease act!!! Not even the fabulous. Marilyn Monroe could have done it better! Thanks for sharing, just loved it...

  • Hayworth still has it galore in this one. Sophisticated, sexy with a sharp snap of style and wit. So the movie as a whole doesn't work, this and Sinatra's turn in The Lady Is a Tramp make it all worthwhile. Love that divine RITA.

  • Frank is sex on legs

  • remember the context

FS forced her to do this AND there's money riding on it!

  • MMMM, a woman like Rita...mmmm, a dress so sexy like this..mmmm a song with such lyrics...A PERFECT MATCH!!, and a great musical movie. I love Kim also. great music, great Frisco in those 50.s days!!Lovely movie. I have the original LP..always hearing it, for my pleasure!!

  • Great to see this again! Major props are due to Lorenz Hart for his witty lyrics and Richard Rogers for a tune that just won't stop bopping.

  • Is there another version of this song with Elaine Stritch doing it? I know Forbidden Broadway did parody song with this melody and cast Stritch in the lead but those are usually based on the performer's own performances. Anybody know anything about this?

  • I don't know if Elaine Stritch ever recorded this song when she first performed it in the 1940s. She did sing it in her "At Liberty" show. You've probably seen this wonderful show. It's available on DVD.

  • The performance in At Liberty is fantastic. She did sing it on the revival cast recording- excellent version, her voice sounded soooo different lol

  • she was so talented!

  • Jo Ann Greer certainly also did a very good job of matching Rita's speaking voice - when the musical number begins with Rita speaking the words and then Jo Ann's singing voice takes over, one can hardly tell the difference - it was nearly seamless.

  • I've listened to this song so many times, that even though I can tell a little difference between the voices, Jo Ann Greer's voice has begun to sound more like Rita than Rita's own voice!

  • didja know Richard Cansino, Voice actor for Rurouni Kenshin, and countless power ranger baddies, is related to her? They are cousins and since Rita's death he had taken on her last name as Richard Hayworth.

  • This is my favourite scene!

I love that dress so much.

  • Love her!

  • Ha...watched this yeterday!!.

  • Love this movie!

  • brilliant.

  • Terrific!
