i remeber this....they braught latino sailors to do this...im mexican in the navy, and i think its stupid how they made this commercial....when they came to my ship i was dissapointed on how they shot, and made shit up...smh
@unclerukus2 Wow, do you know anything about the United States? Yes you need to know English to go into the Military, but America as a country does not have a official language.
Hmm that is weird. You have some knowledge. Anyways, just because the constitution was written in "English" does not mean "English" is our language. America does not have a chosen language..Maybe go to wiki or some site that helps people with history and FAQs. I am sure you will find your answer there.
No, but you still implied the Constitution is in English. So you are implying because our Constitution is in "English" we should only have "English" Navy Commercials. That is what I am getting out of it.
I would put it more as the fact that the american people are by and large an english speaking former colony of the british empire. while i believe free speech is important, look up factions and thomas jefferson. it will divide the people.
Just implying our country should just speak "English" is stupid. I wonder why they call us "The Land of the Free". Maybe it is because we only allow one language, one religion, and we don't have freedom. So to be honest, thank god we are a Free Country.
We do not have an official language on the Federal level but many states have adopted official languages which is well within each states rights to do so.
@67mustangreg This commercial is really for the parents of kids that may benefit with service in the Navy, some of whom don't speak English. Once in the Navy you will have to speak English. The Navy want's to open it's doors to everyone so no one has the excuse of ever saying they didn't have an opportunity in the Navy.
@Guyzea If you're a freshman or sophomore you can join the NROTC if your college has it. I'm a freshman in college and on full scholarship to my school abt. $50,000 a year. If your school doesn't have a NROTC program after you graduate you can go to OCS (Officer Candidate School) where after completing it you will be an officer in the navy.

I think this commercial is more directed at family members, because I know for a fact that you have to speak English to join the Navy.
