I mainly remember Al Hamel as host of "The Anniversary Game" back in 1969. I didn't know he also sang...or at least tried to. I wonder if any old film footage from that program exists.
He went from being described as the most talented performer this country has produced" to "frequent guest," to "minor game show regular," to "infrequent guest" to relative obscurity. Maybe he was too far ahead of his time.
@Landrew0 Obscurity isn't necessarily a sad story. Who knows what his life was like? Maybe he was happy in his obscurity. After all, I'm a very obscure guy, and I'm pretty happy!

Al was so cute and I can remember him in Razzel Dazzel with Michelle Finney. Wish I could find it.
