What a beautyfull song . I wish to know his meaning,. Greetins from the other corner of this planet, I'm from Chile, and I'm descendant of the brave Mapuche Nation, Mai Mai Peñi!!, (Greetings Brothers)
Sounds like Primeaux and Mike. Hey nay yo wah spelled out phoneticly means basicaly ...we are all related. Correct me if I'm wrong. Primeaux and Mike are Navajos who sing peyote healing songs of the Native American Church.
I love this song. I've been trying to get it down for over 13 years. Can anybody tell me what the heck he's saying. Not the translation, but the Lakota words? Anybody? Is their one person who can do this?
This song is gorgeous. I'm Navajo, I've heard and sang this song in our peyote meetings. Thank u 4 sharing your talent and luv to our creator. May Jesus bring many blessings to our nations.
this picture is my dad;s artwork copyright of Warrensart he does alot of art work for these cd's his name is Harry Warren so next time please put who the name of the artist also.thank you
does anyone have the lyrics? i figured out most of it, but there's a part in the middle where i can't quite make it out...also, translation of the song would be nice :)...i understand "wani wachiyelo" - I send a voice out, I'm singing to you..."..."omakiyayo" - help me.. "unchi" - mother...but stuff like "maka wawakame" i don't understand...help would be greatly appreciated relatives!
@BassUndertow He is saying "Wanikiyan"=The Savior (Jesus) Wani Wachin yelo = I want to live, Meaning living a good and full life. It also refers to the life that Wanikiyan promises. And yes Unchi Maka mean Grandma Earth, Unchi=Grandma. Omakiyayo=Help me in a good (scared) way. Hope that helps.
@michaelkermon Also, wawatani refers to the feast with Wanikiyan, as it refers to us living a good life and the feast after this life here is complete, given that we live well under the teachings of Wanikiyan.
@michaelkermon I am not a fluent speaker, so it would be good to talk to an elder. It is important to remember as well that in sacred songs it may not always be literally translated to english but is an understanding, that lives in any language and the culture it encompasses. If that is clear enough, I hope I explained that properly.
Aho that's right i'm lakota myself from rosebud and a half moon roadman some words do have to be explained in some sort of way for a person to understand
@michaelkermon i really like these songs and wish i could have someone help me translate other songs as well...if its ok..email me at crzyluv_18@yahoo.com.....thanks
To the children of my precious fallen soldiers; Say your prayers little ones! Your Ina's, your Ate's can hear you! They wanted you to be free to pray this way; That is why they went on that way to heaven. Roll that smoke and they will hear you. Eat that precious medicine and you will see them and know they are right beside you; forever loving you!
My real name is Akicite Hoksi. I used to sing this song every time we lost a soldier in combat. Thank you for posting this. It is like my prayer for my precious fallen soldier boys is being carried on for me, their children, their spouces, their moms and dads, hoka their grandmas and grandpas. WOPILA ! MICANTE YELO CIGANAKE! WOPILA. HECATUWELO!!!!
