Keep choosing the Don't Go option. I cannot put the the phrases they'll tell you when you have them change their mind, but Liquefy's AC:WW FAQ shows the 3 phrases for all the villager types.

I had Bunnie since I got the game (on the EU release date). I think she'll never leave! She's my best friend along with Rod (which is also there from start).
