  • .........And was thusly jinxed shortly thereafter.

  • Rio was chosen!!! Congratulations!!!

    1st round: Madrid 28, Rio 26, Tokyo 22 and Chicago 18.

    2nd round: Rio 46, Madrid 29 and Tokyo 20.

Last round: Rio 66 and Madrid 32.

    Well done Rio

  • Hey Obama, while you were out pitching for your "hometown" with your golden cow Oprah,... some poor kid was beaten to dEATH on those "hometown" streets of yours. And... not ONE peep from you about it! Obama, c'mon now, you know you are full of shit,... just admit it. the world sees it - go rio!

  • Get mugs, shirts, posters, and postcards on Obama's Olympic failure and ACORN corruption. See my profile for link, then click Obama on left side.

  • I was honestly elated to hear that the new Commander in Thief was shown the door. His attempt to repay the crooked people and organizations he associates with have fallen short. I hope the trend continues and his liberal socialist agendas continue to fail.

    ASC(AW) Chief C, USN (RET)

  • Where's ACORN when you need them!

  • Unfortunately, Obama did not bring ACORN with him - Buses are not good enough to cross the ocean!

  • Where was ACORN? Could have had it hands down if your peeps at ACORN had rallied for you! As proud as I would have been to see the 2016 games in the states, it does my heart good to see that the novelty of "same old same old" presented by the Obamas is finally wearing thin in the eyes of the rest of the world as it has in the USA. Yes Michelle, I'm sure your father was a supporter of the IPC. Any organization with a non-profit tag seems to levitate towards you and yours. LMAO!

  • crcrew Don't you rightwing Obama haters have anything better to do? You guys are idiots if you think Obama single handedly botched the Olympics bid. The decision was never his to make. And there are many factors the IPC considers before choosing a city. Whether or not they like a president is not one of them. Of course you haters will continue to blame Obama, but what else can I expect from people who brought "death panels" into the health care debate?

  • As for idiots.... The IOC makes the determinattion on the game site selection not the IPC. I only made reference to the paralympics in light of Mrs. Obama's comments during her presentation in Copenhagen. I don't hate, nor did I blame Obama for loss of the honor of hosting the games. I could not however resist an oppurtunity to point out that the world is not as impressed with the novelty of this presidency as it was eleven months ago.

    Have a doublegood day!

  • crcrew So I made a typo. Big deal. I'm glad that you recognize that the IOC doesn'

t see the USA as the only country in the world [like many of u on the right do]. No president or prime minister can just snag an Olympic bid simply because of who they are. It doesn't work like that. Conservatives are celebrating a false victory that will be forgotten about in a week. Kind of like Obama's "scary" speech to school children. Having said that, you have a good day as well.

  • He didn't botch it--but he sure got smacked by the IOC! This is the first defeat he's received since the election. May it be the beginning of a long line. . . .

  • Madrid won the 1st round and Chicago received the least number of votes? Voting style needs to change. How can a heavy favorite get the least number of votes & the least likely city to win get the most number of votes in the 1st round? If I had organized the voting, it would have gone as follows: Round 1 - City A (high favorite) v City D (lowest favorite). Round 2 - City B (2nd highest favorite) v City C (2nd lowest favorite). Winner of each would then go 2 final vote. Congrats RIO!

  • chupa USA kkkk

  • RIo 2016! haha

  • RIO 2016!!

  • Hooah---I wanna go to Rio!

  • coolmom I believe you and your friends on the right are projecting your own desires onto the IOC. They don't think about "smacking" presidents and prime ministers. Were the leaders of Japan and other countries who didn't make the bid also "smacked" or dissed?

  • Yes, and they all didn't line up for pix with Pres. and First Lady of any other nations except ours. No one else's leaders went over with impassioned pleas of how much it would mean to their families, etc. No one else needed to be slapped, in the opinion of the IOC.

They were "slapped" because it seemed, at least the media reported that it seemed like Chicago had it in the bag. Then to be dissed so bad, man oh man, that smack must hurt!

  • MsCarol1985: hahah. I don't think so!

    Rio Rio Rio!!

  • You BLEW it HOMEY...Now get yer ass back here and FIX THIS COUNTRY like you were voted to office to do. Instead of flying all over the world trying to be savior.

  • WOW--the world hands Obama his first defeat! May the people of the US see thru this false leader as quickly as the IOC did!

  • coolmom You may be a cool mom and all, but only Obama haters see this as a defeat. This is not the first time the USA has been skipped. In fact, we're supposed to get skipped for several bids. We are not the only country on Earth. As for Obama being a false leader...have you forgotten that he was elected? Despite the comparisons of Obama being Hitler, or Che Gueverra, there was no military coup here. U seem like a decent person. I just disagree with the Obama hating.

  • I have nothing personally against Pres. Obama. But I do hope his policies fail--they will destroy this country.

I hope he succeeds in his personal life, but not at the expense of my country.

  • Chicago... you need to bring Obama (and now what? Oprah) to convince the world you want the Games... come on... !

Madrid has the best project and 89% population in Madrid support the games! We got passion and the best project... u just got Obama...

  • MADRID 2016!

We are the best in everything! It can´t be denied!

  • ur not the best in everything, anyway, news is just out, oprah tried bribe the olympic committee.

May the best bid city win.

  • compared to rio, chicago doesnt have half the crime. so i dont know what crime reports will do. Besides the IOC conducts a secret 3 month survey of the cities. so im sure they have the info GO CHICAGO 2016!

  • Anywhere in The Americas is great for me, though I do prefer them in Chicago, Rio's infrastructure (transportation mainly) needs a little work.

  • Now is the time to innovate enough to be always the same ... Olympiad that has to be in latin america .... and that parents are better than Brazil ....

river in 2016 I support, the pan was wonderful in 2007 now that Olympiad will be more,

    rio2016 come on .............

    the passion alive

  • Brazil (Rio) shoud have a chance to host the Olympic Games to show the world what can be done.

The city has already hosted the Pan American and it was very successful.

  • RIO 2016.. It will be fantastic.. the city is gougeous!! Brazil has a incredible life and passion.

It will be a great experience!!!

  • Do not trust this Crook. Daley is the worst thing to ever happen to Chicago. He has run Chicago off a cliff. ,Chicago is the most corrupt city in America. Thanks Mayor Daley! NOT! CHICAGOANS DO WANT WANT THIS OLYMPIC STUFF HERE

  • So, are you going to post this crap on every Chicago 2016 video, you loser?

  • Psht, try living in Detroit!

  • I agree with you.

    Rio 2016!!!

    lol

  • I WANT the games in chicago

  • All four cities (Chicago, Tokyo, Madrid, Rio de Janeiro) are worthy of hosting the Olympics. In as much as I want Chicago to host the 2016 Olympics or Rio since the Games have never been held in South America, I have a very strong feeling that the IOC might award the 2016 Games to Tokyo. Back to Asia in 8 years. Oh well!

  • Rio or Chicago.

  • i'd love to see the olympics being held in america again. so GO CHICAGO!

  • Tokyyooooo !!

  • i go for CHICAGO!! and 2nd to TOKYO!!go go!!

  • CHICAGO!

  • Probably Rio or Chicago.

  • born and raised here in Chicago-CHICAGO WILL WIN! Wooo hooo! i cant wait to attend the Olympics right here in Chicago! :)

  • I think it'll be Rio de Janeiro or Chicago [2]

  • I think it'll be Rio de Janeiro or Chicago

  • woohoo chicago!!!

  • Hope for Kuala Lumpur 2020 Olympic Games

  • Chicago is the best choice.

  • Chicago will win. China is hosting the Olympics this year, they wont do it in Asia again so soon.

  • they will......madrid no because of london in 2012.......... and rio de janeiro no because is alot of crime.........and tokyo/chicago they have tha big change

  • Tokyo has hosted it before, though. Chicago was supposed to host the 1904 Olympics, but St. Louis took them from Chicago in order to incorporate it into their World's Fair. It was regarded as one of the worst Olympics in history.

  • Well, if we check by country US has had abaout 4 olympics while Japan only one.

  • Go Rio!

  • GO CHICAGO

  • Tokio is going to win, they have the highest mark, and the only one that's close to that is Madrid, but the regional policy is going to stop Madrid from having any chance. I really hope Madrid wins

  • tokyo had high "technical" marks. the past 3 winners of the olympics were ranked anywhere from 2-4th at this point. madrid was first for 2012 and it went to london. toronto was first and it went to beijing for 2008. and athens was last for 2004 and it was awarded the games

  • London was chosen over madrid because it was said that madrid didn't fully meet the security criteria (all because the terrorist attack on 2004), So I don't know to what extent 'technical' criteria is important, but it appears to have stopped madrid from getting the olympics in 2012

  • I hope chicago wins

  • Baby, don't you wanna go?
