James always had something in store for a live performance...the lead guitar runs at the beginning is WAY TOO FUNKY and is not heard on the original recording...all these different arrangements for different songs...Pure Genius...myself, I am a musician..(a drummer) and James's drummers can stay in the pocket all day long and never bore you with just a snare kick and hi-hat!

This is how you take a song called "Make It Funky," that was definititely funky, released on two singles and two albums-and make it more funky, with more edge and drive. Only The Original Soul General could accomplish this.
