The more I watch Bewitched, the more I hate Darrin. He's rude to her relatives (even the ones who like him [Serena]), he rarely defends Samantha's honor and he makes her deny her heritage. Grr! I'm just glad that in this episode he eventually stands up for Sam.
@PozestStar Don't hate Darrin for doing what he is "suppose" to do. Back then, the man was more in charge, and Samantha loved him enough to (try) to do his will. Just love the show!
@dirths I don't know what your response has to do with my comment but *shrugs*. I do love this show, I just don't like how people can insult Samantha and Darrin just takes it. That's not being a "man in charge" it's letting your wife take a verbal punch. If someone was verbally abusing a loved one, you wouldn't yell at the loved one for defending themselves. Darrin didn't stand up for Samantha until someone got in his face, but at least he finally did something.
@PozestStar I'm not saying I don't see your point, I totally agree with you, actually. I could never let such a lovely woman be insulted whether she was my wife or just friend. I thought you meant how could he treat her the way does in general in the series. I didn't realize you were being specific to her being insulted. But you are right, to this particular scene, he should have stood up for Samantha and left with her immediately!
What a stuck up bitch! i would of done the exact same go same :) that's so rude about the nose she has already been told by that other bitch. Thanx for puttin the bewitched espisodes ur kool :P
Plastic surgeon thing was used 3 times. You know, Lizzie and Samantha probably both would have done something like that. Liz personalized sams character. It's like a bit of herself, but Liz often said that Samantha was a wimp for not using her powers.
At 3:01, the look on Samantha's face clearly indicates that she does not like this girl....or the things she said. I would have the exact same expression on my face if someone were to criticize the way I look.
Darrin is always so damn concerned with what everyone thinks of him. It's always about his career and kissing everyone's butt. You'd think he'd be on sam's side if someone treats her with disrespect. He is always trying to impress others at any expense.
Yes.....actually that line was used THREE TIMES! Once in the first "Sheila" episode, a second time here and if you remember, there was a second "Sheila" episode....for a total of THREE TIMES! Maybe that was a snobby line used by high society girls of Westport! LOL.
Actually, it was used FOUR times. The fourth was the Battle for Burning Oak episode. Cynthia Rockford makes the very same comment to Samantha just before Jessica Morten remarks on Samantha's taste in clothing.
Yes....I stand corrected and thank you! So I think it is safe to say that that line was used by the Westport Snob Set in order to put a girl down. They always mentioned the same Dr....Dr. Haffner.
Oh, yes. But I thought she was justified in using her powers to throw that hors d'oevre in that girl's face. Don't you wish that you could do that to someone who insults you like that? We all do. ;) But life isn't like that; instead, we have to just let an insult go through one ear and out the other.
Lizzie, still in her baby-rearing years, looks so voluptuous in this season! I prefer this figure over the later episodes, when she is scrawny.

@PandoraSpocks14 I believe the pilot of the series was one of them where it was used when Samantha met Darrin's ex-girlfriend.
