Daigo can win at will, so he always lets his opponents get as close to winning as possible, then doesn't finish them off when he is able to give them another chance, and STILL wins anyways. Daigo is a god.
@hongeeee not really. poongko even openly admitted that daigo was a better player than he was, lol. he just got carried away in evo and over-reacted after a win against daigo.
@BoyBangla He thought he got nerfed in AE and he wanted to use the character he was best with. However he is switching to someone new in 2012. It was supposed to be back to Ryu but he said his changes were "meaningless"
@BoyBangla daigo stoped playing ryu because of as capcom asked him before AE who he probably wants as new characters in AE, daigo said he would like the twins. and as they gave him the twins he said because im a pro player and working for them and they make me these two chars i wanted fight with one of them. but it looks like he will be fighting in the future with akuma!^^ we will see :) ps; sry for my bad english^^´´´´
Yun has to push forward to get anywhere in a match, the key is to beating Yun is to learn how to play with Yun. Learn his strength, speed, combos, then practice with a fighter quick enough to catch up.
Think about it, Daigo is great with Yun, but, if he went against a Yun do u think he'd win?
That was a pretty damn good match, but I gotta point out that Daigo is a helluva lot better than what his showing at this year's Evo shows. In everyone of the matches I've seen him play, he's dropped more than one combo. That's totally not like Daigo.
@TheKah521: It isn't that, it's just people get tired of the same guy kicking everyone's ass at Evo. Evo2k10's grand finals, like this years', was a blow-out. Daigo, using Ryu, pwned the Rufus user Ricky. It was almost expected. So when he lost this year, people got happy.
6:09 .. who the fuck DPs a shoulder? what a beast.. valle deserved to win this.. too bad his character stood no chance against the almighty S+ tier Yun.. :(
I think both you guys have a point. He is right on the one hand, Yun/Yang players have to get into the fight and get up close and personal. But on the other hand Ryu is downloaded now, he lost best character status awhile ago. Everyone knows how to deal with Ryu now and he is easily punishable
Sick battle till the very end. I still hate it though that anyone fighting a yun has to work so much harder for a win. This shit better change and soon.
@VaeVictus666 seriously ? Ryu players can just sit back and spam hadokens, yun doesn't even have the luxury of projectiles to get easy chip damage wins. If anything the yun players have to work harder vs projectile based characters, namely ryu.
@Saturi It sounds like your a noob at this game, if you think people can spam fireballs, and Yun has to work harder. And Ryu hasn't been top tier in any of the SF4 titles. just high mid tier. Yun and Yang are currently at the top
@miyodarius you did watch the video right, you sound like a noob when it comes to debating over the internet. 6:01 proves you wrong. As i said Yun players don't have the luxury of spamming fires ball for easy wins. They have to get into the fray risking uppercuts, or counter movement attacks as a repercussion. What does a tier list have to do with specific character match up in this debate ? No one asked for your random tier list info.
@Saturi If you fall for fireball spam; you really deserve to lose. I'd like to think there's a sharp curve to learning to deal with them (especially Sagat, I had no idea what to do against him as Adon), but once you do you see it's just a gimmick.
@LordMooseifer Dude just shut up and stop embarrassing yourself with random comebacks, first you said " It sounds like your a noob at this game, if you think people can spam fireballs " which is pretty much saying its impossible to spam fireballs, and then you go and contradict that statement by saying "If you fall for fireball spam; you really deserve to lose. " Just stop responding already. You clearly don't have a foot to stand on when it comes to debating.
@LordMooseifer I am perfectly calm, didn't your computer teacher ever tell you, that capital letters, and exclamation points or signs of a angry person. I didn't do either. Obviously i am not upset. Therefore is no reason for me to calm down. It has nothing to do with serious business, it about you not knowing what the fuck your talking about before you say shit.
@Saturi Thats not spamming, that zoning. You do realize all characters (even Yun) has moves that go throught fireballs? I think the best way to prove my point, if we had a match in SSF4 AE. But if you can't fight. This match is 5/5 in no ones favor. Lets break down these fighters. Ryu has fireballs, Uppercuts, and high damage combos. Yun has, an Uppercut, target combos, command grab, dive kicks, and high damage output... who is better?
@miyodarius Thats a way better response, you should have stated something like that to begin with. spam is repeated use of a move, anything can be spammed. He was trying to get a easy win through the hadokens, but diago didn't let it happen. Yes he was zoning too, but that don't change the fact that he was spamming, I don't know all of yun's move but usually its only ex moves that go through fireballs, I have not even played AE yet. But i played SS4 more than enough to know how the game works.
Yun's Ex fist is a broken frame trap and his recovery is sooo fast. I feel nerf coming. Even playing online the screen pushes you so far back after Yun's Ex fist that u can't see ur character but the Yun player can.
The commentators and the audience are just a little too bias, I understand Alex Valle has the hometown advantage, but the commentators are supposed to be objective.
Really? Ryu wasn't that awesome until daigo used him. That's when he got awesome. You don't keep doing amazing at tourneys because of the character, but because of the player
@supremespork nah, ryu has always been one of street fighters top tier characters. Sure Daigo made him a popular standout amongst tourny players. But you talk as if Daigo is one of the capcom game developers and went and re-modified ryu's game mechanics.
@stupidkaydoo well considering that yun takes about a 1/3 of life in a target combo alone still stands as being over powered despite all the yun fans saying he isn't, As great as this fight was i think it would of been better if diago used a nuetral character with normal damage output rahter than the god character known as yun.
The stream reached over 35k viewers when this match came up. Usually we only see about 5k-10k on other events (ie CEO, ReveLAtions).
We get a brand new crowd in Evo that I wouldn't consider part of the community; just random idiot kids who only know who Daigo is. The 5k-10k who watch every event would be part of the tight community in my opinion
can anyone please explain to me if Yun is a real Street Fighter 4 character? is he an actual playable character? Can you unlock him??? I want to know! Yun is my favorite character in the street fighter 3 series!!!
@machogrubba14 He's on the update of SSF4 called "Street Fighter 4 Arcade Addition" along with Yang, Evil Ryu and Oni Akuma. Download it on your PS3 for $14.00 or buy the game itself for like 35-40 dollars once you get it he's unlocked

Man, I really wanted to see Justin vs Daigo in Grand Finals. Yang vs Yun....Yeah Alex is a very, very strong player but, Justin needs to run it back with Daigo.
@icyrazor Justin was already eliminated from the tournament.
And I think to date Alex is the only American player to ever have surpassed most top Japanese players in a fighting game, in Alpha 3 it was already admitted when he almost defeated Umehara that he would have been unbeatable to other top Japanese players as Daigo at the time was the strongest he ever was and was playing the most he ever did in his life to date daily in Alpha 3 compared to other games he's played.
@jman9001 Comments are supposed to give thoughts and opinions on the video, reviews really. So if you don't want to find out who wins the match just don't read the comments.
yun is so overpowered priority anti air... no punish on shoulder... hard to punish even the lunging fist... and normal palm strike even destroys ex fireballs... plus dive kicks are so hard to punish.... capcom needs to fix things out
Breathtaking. I'm a casual gamer, but I think watching competitive gaming is the shit. This is one of the best videos on youtube I've ever seen, and I barely play Street Fighter.
It's like, Rocky 6 in video game form. Valle didn't win the fight, but he proved to the world he still has what it takes to compete. Long live Calipower.

@jman9001 Comments are supposed to give thoughts and opinions on the video, reviews really. So if you don't want to find out who wins the match just don't read the comments.

first time I want to see Alex win! i hate yun... so imbalanced character
KellysterOverdrive 7 months ago
yun is so overpowered priority anti air... no punish on shoulder... hard to punish even the lunging fist... and normal palm strike even destroys ex fireballs... plus dive kicks are so hard to punish.... capcom needs to fix things out
KellysterOverdrive 7 months ago
@KellysterOverdrive dont blame capcom, blame daigo.

@itzAcutie imagine the worlds best street fighter player playing the a top tier character that needs to be nerfed down...

@KellysterOverdrive That says a lot about Valle.

Oh wow! I wouldn't mind if Alex had won the tournament. Old school class.

Breathtaking. I'm a casual gamer, but I think watching competitive gaming is the shit. This is one of the best videos on youtube I've ever seen, and I barely play Street Fighter.

Incredible, perfect example of my dream fight!
Side note- its kinda sad when daigo has to wear headphones to block out the rudeness of americans at evo.

Alex always uses the weaker character. In Zero 3 he used Ryu when Daigoat used Akuma and when he used Ryu again Daigoat used Yun.

Just Hype!

It's like, Rocky 6 in video game form. Valle didn't win the fight, but he proved to the world he still has what it takes to compete. Long live Calipower.

Daigo take Yun to a whole other level
