Lebanon Safest Place

I served in Beirut in 1982 and 83 with the Multinational Peacekeeping force, I'd love to go back too Beirut and see it now. But for someone like me I'd have reservations about it because of some of the same factions that killed many of the American Marines and Sailors are still their. I feel like i could become a target. Is it safe for someone like me and my family to visit?

I was there when they were shooting the scene with the kid that runs to the arms of his dad. its so funny cuz they shot it like 200 times, the kid started crying, they had to stop everything to cheer him up lool. I saw this video now by total coincidence, I had no idea what they were filming. its kinda ironic hahaha

When I see this video, it makes me miss Lebanon even more! I miss my family there, the warm, Beirut, the beach, our summer-house, the atmosphere, the feeling of being alive. And I'm so sad that we are not going to Lebanon this year. We need to wait till next year to see the family and then there has been 3 years of seperation :(. I love Lebanon - love from Denmark! <3

i love going to lebanon because no one else in the uk knows about it. As soon as they hear the word 'beirut' they instantly think of war, and the only time it makes the news is when things are kicking off with Israel, so people are too scared to go there. Obviously the lebanese want the business from foreigners but i hate going to places full of fat, sunburnt western tourists.
