  • That Bitch Maggot still lives!!

  • Visit the coal mining museum at Wakefield. Go underground on the coal mine experience. If you are lucky, you'll meet 'Big Dave' from Barnsley (He's about 6'4" tall, and now retired)

and he'll tell you all about how pits are now re-opening, and that Maggies closures cost the UK economy (now) about £100 billion ! How the UK has 'Black' coal, and the US, Germany, and China have 'Brown or 'dirty' '' Coal. And we Import it!

  • @toffas1 ...and we import it because it's mined by people in places where safety is a minor consideration, then wages are shit, and kids as young as 11 or 12 are down there digging it out for a pittance. Soon, they'll organise and fight and win better conditions, then one day some cunt like Thatcher will come along and close everything down. Maybe then, they'll import the coal from up here, once the Tory bastards have destroyed all our bargaining power. The wheel turns, the fat man gets fatter.

  • @freddo27 Look up Tower Colliery just outside Aberdare, Thatcher ordered it closed but the miners pooled their redundancy pay and bought it, against the bitter protests of the tories who knew it was viable and were just hoping to re-open the pits some time after the unions were broken, as they are doing now! The pit kept going for 13 years after the tories said it was "unsustainable", funding a clinic, hospital, schools, and jobs for the locals. The last coal was pulled up in 2008.

  • a place is being prepared for maggot a place in hell!!

  • All the shit that maggie thatcher ( spit ) brought in could easily be taken out by those in power now BUT THEY FUCKING WONT . These cunts are just as bad as that balding old cunt

  • lol good song never heard english rebel music before....... its funny though compare it to irish rebel and the lyrics are much cleaner lol

  • "Fuck the British army", "Stick your pass right up your ass we want your motor car" lol

  • @djdarren40 One day the rebels of the world will unite, then the cunts that fuck us now will be finished.

  • There's a flash mob group to flash mob Thatcher's death at flashmobdeath dot tk and at maggiethatcher dot com

  • MAGGIE THATCHER FIRST CLASS CUNT

  • @paltalkdevil I love you lol. Sooner the bitch croaks the better.

  • Great song and great respect for miners

Coal not Dole was one of the famous slogans of the miners

  • Lovely sad song and a beautiful singer. Oyster Band version is great too. Thanks.

  • i agree. Oysterband version is better, in my opinion

  • I'll sleep with the opposite sex before I get into god thankyou very much

  • so you (our class) in the same desprate stare of opression that we have been in for the last few thousand years.

  • what do you mean "our class" you know bugger all about me or my life experiences. If you are going to post crap (in the hope you'll be to recruit more lost souls) please try to stick to plain english.

  • ASSUME IT NOW? What, the position? Here's a quick quiz for you: What percentage of oppression over the last 21 centuries has arisen from Christianity? How many deaths in the name of a Jewish carpenter and rabbi? Everyone needs something to believe. I believe it's time for a pint! (Blasphemy is thirsty work)

  • WHAT???????????

  • This country has a passion for turning its back on groups of society it once found worthy. Ex forces personnel , the miners, the list is both endless ans shameful.

  • This is the only page I have ever seen that every comment or response sound like it was written by a dumb ass and I' am from Texas.

  • When you`re from texas i can understand that to you everything is dumb but it sez more over you and your fellowtexans(bush, cheney). You see what texas education does with you???NOTHING...

  • it took you 2 months to think of that and I'm a dumb ass? I know it took you this long to see it right Come on pull your head out nothing is fore free.

  • Thats yas fault.

  • Is it any wonder everyone hates Texas and all the good people there are fleeing to other states out of embarrasment?

  • Lived in Yorkshire during miners strike. The mass media did not show the poverty in the old mining communities following government policy to close the pits. Drugs filled the vacuum in many of them, so many suicides so little help. Roll on Thatchers death that will be a party.

Jono11, fact that those that scream the loudest for gays to die are generally hiding something.

You sure you're not from good British stock way back when, sounds like your grandpa might have been from Brighton UK.

  • looking forward to that party mate ,got my bottle of cheap cider ready.

  • Must correct you Jono11, you should have seen the HOT brunette girl I scored with last time I was in the U.S - American girls love us Brits! By the way, one of my best friends does happen to be gay. Not everyone thinks the British are gay, but if you look down on gay people I feel sorry for you and your pathetic little narrow mind. Are you from Texas or Arkansas or somewhere in the Bible belt by any chance? If so I feel even more sorry for you.

  • great song

    oysterband cover /

  • It`s written by Kay Sutcliffe a poetress from Kent and not by the O.B.

  • pity they are bunch of hypocritical sell out bullshitters

  • They knew you'd say that, and respect your freedom of speech all the way. ;-)

  • I felt the same way after Tubthumper. Honestly though, if you're talking about Tubthumper, ect., I think they did the right thing as it attracted a wider audience to their core messages. You've got to hand it to them, they decided to go mainstream after years of rejecting it and did it, not many bands can say that. Think of all the music they made, while all simultaneously and individulally holding down working class jobs.

  • i was think more of when I went to see them in burnley they got on a friends case because she was wearing a shirt with the picture of the baby on it from the anarchy album, they demanded to know where it was bought so that the could stop the person from making then( it was made by an anarchist collective),Yet they felt it ok to steal other peoples work on jesus H. christ.

  • and what happened to no copyright,

plus they throw paint over joe strummer for the clash signing to a major label(1985 i think they did it) yet sign to EMI 10 years later.

  • @cally19620 I'm sure if they knew it was made by a collective they wouldn't have been bothered. The problem would be if it was made by a capitalist manufacture for pure reasons of greed (as happened with tons of crass stuff - david beckham incident for example), when the money could have gone to a worthy cause. Post is 2 years old but the point stands. They switched to EMI because they were no longer involved with Thorn and they said themselves that OLI records were just as capitalist at heart.

  • @nempozpag They still had ago even when we told them were it was made.

EMI was still involved in other dodge practices............I'm sorry but to me they really showed themselves to be hypocrites.

  • does it piss YOU off that the rest of the world think yanks are pathetic mindless slaves of consumerism and/or pathetic mindless rednecks

and for the record, no it dosent annoy me, Hugh Grant may be the imade the rest of the world has of britain, but i'm not pathetic enough to get wound up about it, you can fuck off and die too for all i care

  • I'll bet it drives you nuts that the rest of the world thinks British people are all gay. It must just drive you crazy that your counterparts around the world chuckle at and look down on you.

  • Wan' come over 'ere an say that yas twat.

Yas wound't last a round oer beer before yas got steamed, but then yas probably got no bottle anyhows.

  • Fuck off and die you thick Nazi cunt.

  • impure fuckin' idiot!!!

  • Commendable sentiment, delivered melodically and with evident heartfelt if misguided conviction. Socialists everywhere will applaud the cessation of labour-intensive mining. Cheers, anti-Stalinite, anti-Thatcherite, anti-Blairite humanist/communist/survivor.

  • Mining was latterly a well paid job leading to communities with pride. Go to Frickley now and tell people they are lucky they don't have to go down the mines and see what reception you get. The end of coal mining - which may or may not have been an economic inevitability - was still the death of fine and noble communities that generations had built. That, at least, is worth shedding a tear for.
