marijuana is safer than jail. fuck you greedy bastards in humbolt, kids are being thrown in jail and having their lives ruined so you can make a couple bucks. get a REAL fucking job and stop ruining it for everybody else. we wanna smoke without the fear of being arrested, stop being selfish and think about the rest of california.
Pros: Legal possession (unlimited at grow site), free, legal, non-medical personal grows, free to receive from friends, Employment protection, local/state police cannot assist feds, PROP 215 and SB 420 remain, the cost of cannabis will be dramatically reduced (50-80% reduction). Medical grows are not confined to 25sqft as per PROP 215.
Cons: Small non-medical commercial grows may not make enough money for it to be worth their time.
So, under the Marihuana Tax Act of 1937, marijuana was legal, but it was impossible to possess it legally. Prop. 19 would do the same thing — make it “legal” for you to cultivate marijuana, yet allow cities to make it economically infeasible for anyone to actually grow it. do we really want to give cities the power to tax us "without limitation"? have YOU read the initiative! VOTE NO, CALIFORNIA! see parts 2-4 of this video collection and get informed, and spread the word!

Rancho Cordova has proposed a tax on indoor cannabis me-grown for personal use: $600/sq. ft. up to 25 sq. ft., and a $900/sq. ft. tax for anything larger — be it recreational or medicinal — if Prop. 19 passes. That’s $15,000 per year for a 5’x 5’ space and $90,000 per year for a 10’x10'. The Marihuana Tax Act of 1937 didn’t make marijuana illegal, but prohibited possession of marijuana without a tax stamp — which the government never issued... Prop. 19 will do the very same thing:
you're right--nowhere does prop. 19 say you'll be taxed on personal cultivation. BUT IT DOES SAY THAT CITIES WILL HAVE THE RIGHT TO TAX CANNABIS AS HIGH AS THEY WANT. haven't you heard it's already happening in rancho cordova?
Please vote YES on prop19. It may not be perfect, but it will be a big step. We must change the laws, but we must also change the government. If Obama will not vote yes, the vote him out. As simple as that.
Fuck you.legalize it.

READ PROP 19 YOURSELF! read it twice, nowhere does it say you will be taxed on personal cultivation!!! -only on sales
6615403 1 year ago
@6615403 that's true. Even if there was a tax for cultivation, I would rather pay tax than be labeled a criminal for cultivation.

Yes on 19!!!
politics is about momentum and only a fucking moron or a sadistic profiteer could support the system as is...
a NO vote will encourage INCREASED federal raids - hey we voted for them - and another 18,000 stupid, wasteful low-end possession arrests.
