I've avoided a blue shell before. You wait for it to hover just before it hits and unleash a full-charged grind boost it'll explode where you were the millisecond before and you get out of it unscathed. I've only ever done it once so maybe it was a glitch though.

I have dodged a blue shell in mario kart 7 at least ten times now because in mk7 they give you a better chance to get mushrooms and also when the blue shell locks on to you right before it hits you use the mushroom it gets much easier the more you do it

My favorite Rainbow Road is the SNES one, though I've yet to play either MK Wii or MK7. On a side note: Mario Kart really is better off with blue shells. They help keep the pack together, ensuring far fewer races are decided before the first lap is even complete.

@arsenaali I think for the two years I had played it, I only dodged the Blue Shell once. I think right as it went down to get me, I got a speed ramp that sped me out of the blast radius.

I also remember, in Multiplayer, the VR system sucked. Once you got in the 8000+, you had to get first in every race or else you would lose all your VR... I never got max VR.

Actually, Fraser playing this makes me want to get my console out and start playing some Wii games again. :)

You can, but it's not something you can do on a regular basis. I've only managed to do it about 5 times in the past and I wouldn't have been able to do it at all if I hadn't had a mushroom at the time :S.

Blue shells are avoidable, when the blue shells come down, if you have a mushroom, a speedup pad infront of you, in my opinion blue shells weren't made to be avoidable :O
