Actually Galactica has a flak shield which protects against projectiles.

The Flak cannons are closer to modern CIWS systems then some defensive shield. And it's capable of both defensive and offensive capabilities.

@NorthRainProductions In the 70's Galactica, they had physical blast shields that covered the windows, so when Adama gave the order "Positive Shields" He was really just telling them to put the blinds down on the windows

Yes you can acually get the mk2 viper for 2002. you can find it at simviation . com
