This used to be one out of 2 showcars Koenigsegg used for car shows and such. The other one being the red one used for the record speed stunt. So this one, when tested was not set up for track use and therefore didnt have a rear wing. If they had let it run with bioethanol and tweaked its suspension and downforce, it would be quite a bit easier to handle.

The Veyron can go faster and under much more control, and the new super sport is even faster 268mph!! 1200 hp all while having luxury and good materials and the spoiler. obviously its way to expensive at 2.8 million but still its the fastest so far.

is it worth pointing out that, if you go behind the scenes to any of the top gear "stories", theres always another truth. The CCX doesn't benefit that much from the top gear spoiler. Its all about the tuning setup. This was the first CCX to be built and, as it was built to smash the veyron, was setup for straightline sprints. With the top gear spoiler it was also tuned for the track too. In its first guise top gear insisted they took it round the track despite koenigsegg disagreeing!

As fast as this car may be with less power than the original Veyron the handling is absolute rubbish in comparison. Proof positive is the placement of its time on the Power Board and the simple fact that the STIG(!!) crashed. Not to mention comfort. This car is for people who have more of a yearning for killing themselves or racking up speeding tickets than people who want a car that does that same speed but in a controlable manner.

The engine is HEAVILY based off of the earlier-used Ford Modular engine. Its basically a Ford engine that has been molded/made/etc. by Koenigsegg.

The CCX is faster than the Veyron around the track, but the Super Sport Veyron is faster than the CCX. However, the CCXR would be faster than the Super Sport as would the new Agera be most probably (we wait for the next season of Top Gear and hope they test the new one!). But in all fairness, both fantastic cars at the very top of their league.

Think of it this way, the Veyron is a cheating B****** It has a W16 engine, 4 Turbochargers and it's AWD. The Koenigsegg Has a V8 with TWO superchargers and it's RWD. The Veyron stuck to V8's together and it's just slightly faster than the Koenigsegg...Yup. I'd take the Koenigsegg anyday.
