Nice job dude - I have one practically the same except mine has a Bigsby on it - great for smokey cleans and a wonderfull harmonically rich full on overdrive - weighs a ton though - but hey - it's worth the pain.

@Rock96On That Jackson also kicks ass man.But yeah Gibson is Gibson.I have heard that sometimes they fuck up guitars because the craftmanship was not so good but that is usually on their epiphone models.The Gibson customs are wicked.The only thing i am concerned about is that since i have little fingers the thick neck gibson have could be a total pain in the ass for me.But i hear the make models with thin necks as well.I will check 'em out :D

@feelee15 It came in two versions in 1954...one had 3 p'ups & another 2 p'ups. Some had low frets some had medium jumbo. I have one that i bought in the mid 1970s which has original PAF's..great sound but VERY heavy.

I had the same trouble with fender,I plugged in on a current vibrolux, very dissapponiting, I am not sure if it's the circuit board verses point to point wireing,

but I went with a Victoria amp ,I believe it is a 20112, and use a boss Gt-3 for reverb,I am closer to what Gregs amp sounds like ,more mids than that tinny sound you get from current Fenders, If you have a old fender amp,keep it

@resevil2008 if I can remember, there are different configurations of Black Beauties...3 PUPs, with Bigsby Vibrato, neck profiles...the name Black Beauty goes to the finish and style of the custom including the "black beauty" tone caps used back in the '50s...

hey i need an honest opinion please,, me n my band are trying to bring back the 80''s style of rock and metal with out own twist on things ,, i was looking into getting an ibanez n change to the emg 81 and 85 pickups ,, but this guitar is pure beauty,, ,, do you think this guitar could suit the kind of music im going for??

This guitar will run you about 2-4k so it would be a very expensive option compared to an Ibanez. I also wouldn't put in EMGs since the pickups it has are very versatile and sound superb. Maybe look into ESP and LTD models they have EMGs built in, are made really well, and are very inexpensive.

You really don't need a certain guitar to get a certain sound..... The main thing is the style of pickup and the bridge type. of course there are so many factors in the sound, materials used etc. , there will be differences, but the main idea will be there and attainable. Of course amps and effects will play in to it as well, but if you play around you can get most sounds. You can never go wrong with a Les Paul! (unless you're looking to do dive bombs) :D
