No split cycle on this little rear loader--not allowed in US. Good looking body and lots of cardboard! Was this a recycle route? We try to be green too, so just curious?? You are very educated about the equipment in this industry. Keep at it, and thanks for watching all of the Scorpion videos! I am working on more, so keep in touch and keep the "bloody" comments coming!!
Yes this was a recycle route, makes sense with a recycling company :D I'm not sure if this contractor does garbage as well, as far as I know just paper/cardboard.
It pays off joining this refuse truck "network" on YouTube as well as MSN Groups... before I joined my knowledge was limited, only really knew stuff about the Aussie trucks. I will keep watching those vids... you just keep posting! lol
Very neat, glad you were able to catch this guy in action! Interesting body design, VERY different to Aussie, American, and any other 'normal' RLs! Packs pretty well for a small fry :D
If you mean whereabouts do I work, it's basically everywhere... I asked to be trained on back (making burgers, cooking meat, etc) about 7 months ago... still hasn't been done. So yer, soon it'll be everywhere.
Well my age group down here (under 16) is about 7.5/hr... it's alright, but still pretty cheap. Above 16 I think about get like $10... then above 18 or something it's better, but still cheap.
I'm counting a cycle time of 14-15 seconds and reload time in the 6-7 second range. This rivals the legendary Gar Woods of the 1960s. Great video as usual, Mitch!
Reload time is generally considered to be the time from the start of the the cycle to the moment when the sweep panel clears the hopper sill. After it clears the sill, loaders may (safely) begin re-loading the hopper at any time therafter; They need not wait for the rest of the cycle to finish before reloading.
This can be considered big, they have one available half the size of this truck!
We used to have trucks with full packs, until the new safety reg. early last year made it so that it'd only do half the cycle, and then had to be re-engaged.
Cheers! All of our other RLs are basically the same as yours, only do the half cycle and then has to be engaged again. It's a stupid safety reg. that was put in place last year... doesn't really matter anyway, just to make it a pain in the but for the drivers. Don't know why it hasn't been fixed on this truck... maybe it hasn't been seen or you can't.
YES!!!!!! great video of the Japanese truck that i said was weird!!! but it is a fkn fast packer!!!! So welcome to Australia ShinMaywa Town Pack!!! Great Mitch!!!1 getting anymore???
It's a very good truck! Don't know if I can get more - this is one of those rare trucks which you barely see, unfortunately. If I do see him again, I'll be straight onto it! I was told the guy that owns the company is thinking of getting some more of these :D

Always wondered... what do you mean by reload time? Something to do with how long until you can restart it after the pack's finished? Thanks! :D
MitchellM15 3 years ago

Thanks... never would've thought of it that way.
MitchellM15 3 years ago
kewl...
Funny lift on that thing - I never saw an "edge-mounted" lifter before, only those mounted with hydraulics on the side of the hopper.
Griffencph 3 years ago
A lot of the American one's, if not all, are just like this... except only handle single bins as far as I know + most are generally faster.
MitchellM15 3 years ago
Some of our trucks handle 3x240 L bins on the lift, so in those cases it saves time to have the full-wide one.
But of course, if there's only one bin at each adress, it doesn't really matter...

Nice vid!! Cute little truck. We dont have a full cycle pack here. So is this a route or varied stops around.

Love your new editing style! ;) I thought for a while that thing was on an auto-pack cycle. Those Japanese are smart little buggers...
shadofax96 3 years ago
:D Be using it much more.
I took a look at the controls and you can actually set it to continuous... suprised they didn't have it at that - interesting what they come up with.
MitchellM15 3 years ago
Sounds like you aussies dont come across auto cycles often. Over here, our carts are nearly always on auto cycle for bin routes
SpazzedMoose 3 years ago
we dont have trucks here that run a full cycle like that. it only stops in the middle. Great vid Mitch. Nice to see small trucks too.
