This is a great solution, one that Alexander would probably have approved of. Why would you refrain from rotating the yellow once you see it can come out? The so-called "rules" actually say: "you'll never HAVE TO rotate, turn or use brute force on any of the pieces". Remember the inventor used a computer to design and solve the puzzle. Your solution proves that there are still a few differences between computers and us.
But the fact is, applying rotations to this puzzle makes it much more easier to solve. It is a hole different puzzle when youre allowed to move the pieces only up/down, left/right, back/forth. But dont want to argument about this, just want say that if you want more challenge, do it the "original" way.
i thought the point was to take it apart though?
