  • nice. like jose044 says, loaded with language. good presence too, and keeping it all straight in your head. ain't it hard getting rid of that last bit of ex-rock-guy choke vibrato though? i only say it 'cause i know the feeling ;-) rock on.

  • learning this must give you so much language!

  • Awesome!

  • awesome! Nothing to say about^^♪♪

  • Yeah.. Yeah, but can you play Purple Haze or Wipeout? (: > O)

  • @HugeGene I really hope that was sarcasm. :P

  • @TintedRedFilms Yeah, I was joking of course, I think the comparison is absurd...just sayin'...Have a good one. Gene.

  • Good job ! Well done ! You obviously don't waste your time ! But where was 'Scrapple' ? - only kidding - you've posted a great video here worthy of much credit

  • great job, good memorisation, feeling and swing presence and finaly a good exemple of a guitariste to follow for doing a work like this. two thumbs

  • Great great licks ...awesome tone out ta this guitar !!

  • what's the hurry?

  • Well done! My guess is that working out all these great Charlie Parker melodies did good things for your improvisations, too.

  • wow, amazing, simply fantastic :O

  • Wonderful playing, precise and definitely boppin'.

  • Really, really nice.

  • Alright, learned the heads, now lets hear the solos!

  • perdon q no bob licity es de miles ????

  • Great playing, no need to hide your face with playing as good as this

  • Loved it all and amazed by it. Only wish I didn't have to mentally "shut out" the (excellent) sax line to focus on the guitar. Would have preferred your lead to the unison with the sax. (This is not a criticism of the sax player!) Maybe a guitar-dominant arrangement some day?

  • sei identico a Lele Mora

  • Love it Kevin! Great choice of Charlie Parker heads , well played :)

  • Uau!!!!

  • You inspire me cat! Fantastic!!!

  • Wow. I wanted to do what you did some time ago, but never had the will to do it ... Althought, I admire the technical precision that you've demonstrated by picking those heads, I would have liked to hear you IMPROVISE a bit. 11 heads of jazz and no improvisation ? The essence of Jazz is the improvisation, or so my teacher thought me. Anyhow, still damn impressive !

  • Fantastic stuff!!.

  • Good shit man.

  • COULD U PLEASE PLAY THAT slowa haaa

  • That great man!!! Cheers!!!

  • Sir, That was amazing.

  • Amazing. How did you remember those compilations note for note? Brilliant. My favorite is at 3:43 Donna Lee (fantastic)

  • the old fashioned way....... repetition, rinse and repeat

  • @kevinthebeagle Dude you are pretty amazing. Is that the path metheny Ibanez? Any how it sounds extremely good on guitar and goot timing as well!

  • @Jazzeerun better question is how did charlie!? :O

  • Well done mate. Well transcribed

  • Charlie parker rules!!!! just..... awesome!!!!

  • ej man, where are 16 note frase on bridge of confirmation,

  • Awesome technique!

  • You've got it nailed - great stuff in the groove. Thank for putting this up on YouTube - I'm off to buy some Charlie Parker.

  • That's great man! You've inspired me to go learn this.

  • Great head playing, I'd like to hear you improvise on some of these too. Great stuff.

  • Fantastic!!!!!!!!

  • Brilliant! I want to learn Confirmation!

  • A lot of hard work went into this and it SHOWS! Great......awesome! KEEPON STRUMMIN............DALLAS

  • awesome idea and really well played! im inspired to try to same now.

  • This dude is...HOT...Great CHOPS..My one head is spinning..!!

  • good

  • Kevin, I applaud both your hard work and talent. Fame is not the most important achievement... being able to play with tone time and feel... that's the prize. And 78k people know what you have done and that can NEVER be taken away. Congrats.

  • For a moment I thought he had a guitar synth setup... The sync is very tight.

  • His playing is very tight you mean.

  • ¬_¬

  • man, the hell with readin and playin note by note

    what the f

    despite that, nice performance

though this kinda jazz bores me

  • Hey man! I know this is a dumb question, but should you by any means have the sheet music for that arrangement?

    Well played and arranged!

  • yes yes he is a great guitarsplayer!!

    nice!!!

he even plays with the different bpm s!!!! hard !!!

    nice nice

  • cool idea. well-executed. I was at a workshop where somebody asked Bela Fleck something about how to get better at playing Jazz and he said "Learn some Charlie Parker heads"

  • That book is actually so damn hard to read cos the tempos are all at like 250 bpm.

    Good accomplishment man!

  • i hear some very similar phrases here to the ones in ornithology....

    great work

  • was thinking exactly the same!

    good job

  • Master!!!!!! =D

  • These are not easy heads! Very nicely done, man.

  • yeaahh mennn , you are the great guitarrist

  • Great  WOW ++

  • DE +++++

  • Super.

  • Bop didn't die...it reinvented itself as...

    nu-bop (Nb)...Kurt Elling et al....

  • Man,i love listening to this..i dont care when people say bebop is dead..this is awesome..do you have some tabs?did you rely on a book or did you just learn it by ear?thanks

  • all of the above....

  • reading from the real book is the way to do it man, if you're serious about playing jazz it's always good to read and play the progressions and stuff too.

  • Omnibook

  • I play all these on alto saxophone, great job, they must be harder on guitar...

  • nice technique.., but i was hoping for a solo part..

  • awsome..!

  • great playing, man. :) (not loving the crotch shot, though.) hehehe.

  • @somebodyjones i actually think the crotch shot ties the scene together =P

  • Did you happen to know that Miles Davis originally wrote Donna Lee? charlie parker recorded it with his quintet including miles, and the names of the composers were never corrected on the original recording.

very nice stringing together, must have taken a lot of work! do you gig regularly with the backing band?

  • Out of curiosity, how long did it take you to memorize that? Very good job by the way.

  • DAMN - I have been practicing that for 20 years and I haven't got it that smooth!

  • Well, KtheB has done it again. And to paraphrase the Tap, this vid goes to "11". I now have my syllabus. See ya in a few years.

    J-bone

  • Impressive.

  • Hehe, Donna Lee sure goes by fast, don't it? That's my personal favorite.

    That's incredible though, man. Really.

  • Man, that was just great. The B'BOpera Players. Cool. Playing that many heads that fast that quick (or was tape edited (cut and spliced)) is quite the feat. Were you actually playing with the guys or they did the tracks for you to overdub?? Either way, that was quite cool. :-)

  • thanks, guitar is live for the video with a previously recorded band track, minus the gtr part. we learned (over time) the 11 heads as a long run on sentence for our amusement and to see if any pedestrians would hang around listening to see if it ever ends. glad you like it.

  • rather nice , man.

  • good job!nice playing!

  • Ha sweet got a lil bit of Clifford Brown's Dahoud in there as well. I dig.

  • Besides reproducing the lines, were you able to recgonize the elements they were made of , like triads, arpeggios, chromatic aprox , scales and everything else on the neck ? thank you

  • do you use the bebop scale?

  • ??? "he" is using whatever scale THEY use. And trust me... they were beyond the simple likes of the bebop scale. Often times, they played strange intervals, such as 9th, 11th, and 13th intervals, which is one of many stylistic traits of bebop (many).

  • How long did it take from you, to memorise this?

  • sweeeeeeet!!!

  • this is part of my daily listening!! any plans for more parker medleys? or dizzy? would love to hear guit/bass duet of donna lee...bebop valhalla!

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!

  • you are a great guitarist :)

  • Made my head spin. Fantastic.

  • Brilliant.

  • Great!!

  • Four is from Miles not from Parker

  • Great work man, I know that you`ve played five thousand times the heads to get them the way you do in this excelent video.

    Thanks for your work.

  • agreed....rock on man, very impressive

  • DAMN!!! LOVE CHARLIE PARKER!!!

  • damn son....i play trumpet and guitar... andi thought playing all that on trumpet was fun....thatl ooks sooooo fun, lol

  • is that walt fowler of F Zappa fame??!

Nicely played - when are you posting the next 11? :)

  • so crazy man ~~u jazz it~!

  • It's not how fast Pass played that counts as much to me as his harmonic ideas. This is fantastic work and I hope you understand the harmonic ideas you are playing

  • Brilliant idea - great playing. Well done !!

  • YEA!

  • good !! vinibrazil!!

  • A great idea, wonderful music and superb playing.
