  • I love this! thanks so much for posting xx

  • l have English rebel songs in a cappella,is this some other album?

  • @partisan72 This is English Rebel Songs revisited. The record that you have is from 1988. In 2003 the decided to bring it abit more up to date by adding a song called Cole Not Dole, bringing it up to 1984, as you can see on the cover. Also added was this song, The Bad Squire. This 2003 release is a whole new re-recording. The sleeve notes say they decided to do this re-recording because they felt they had learned more about their voices and how to harmonise.

  • @whisperingfox

    Thanks a lot,get the picture now,l guess.:)

  • @partisan72 It is a social commentary, depicting the struggle of the poor in England.

  • Does anyone know where I can get this version of this album? I have English Rebel Songs, but it has a cream cover, and doesn't have this song on it... Thanks!

  • @julemouse you can get the album on Amazon

  • @julemouse yes i have the cream cover too.

  • Can someone tell me, where i can get the chords??

  • @ViccoRamon1 Hi - here's what I've worked out so far. It's just me listening and trying to get close to don't think of this as exact (!). Put a capo on the 3rd fret. Am G Am Em6 (maybe?) Where it goes up a bit: C G Am Em6 Am - not sure about this last bit still....
  • pretty close.. i think it's (if you use a capo) am G am G and that higher part C G am em am G am G..

  • the lyrics are a Charles Kingsleys poem, he was the author of "the water babies" and apparently a friend of Charles Darwin.

  • wow
