Lol, this is the actual pre-production design for the Lamborghini Diablo.
Chrysler softened the Diablo's lines however, and Gandini decided to make his own supercar. This is the result. You could say this car is more Lamborghini Diablo than the actual Lamborghini Diablo itself...
i like their muscle-ish looks. sad to hear v12's like the SSC Ultimate Aero could kick its ass. and even though that marvelous piece of art Cizeta could go 0-60 in 4s, a skyline that has only SIX cylinder could kick its ass in no time. :(( fucking technology nowadays
Look at Project 132. When it look like Lambo was going bye bye (financial news: Lambo value down, was Chrysler to buy or not, who know, then?), Gandini took this design to Cizeta but then "returned" to Lambo once its outlook seemed better. Lambo was penning replacement designs, and yes Chrysler smoothed the design. But this is basically what would have been left of the Countach replacement if Lambo bit the dust.
remeber in a few years these cars will be banned from the streets due to fuel and environment restrictions....there will remain only computer controlled electric cars!
it looks like a lamborghini diablo.... nothing special... just a V16 engine, diablos engine is V12 and has the same performances... so this is pathetic :)))))
hah,... only 10 cizetas exists in the world... and maybe you can notice, that this car was way ahead of it's time... freakin beutiful car if you ask me... :) And very very very veryyyy expencive :)
top speed, acceleration, horsepower, all this doesnt matter, this is classic :)...
@dustinallen1982 even though it has 1000hp it takes 4ever accelerate compared to other supercars its not even really a supercar the reason there is 1000hp is because its fat
even though i admit the veyron is quite possibly the ugliest thing to ever come out of Italy, there's no denying it is leagues ahead of the Cizeta in engineering, fit and finish. Granted, the V16 is much older, it still comes off as a re-badged Lamborghini with a different motor. And it's not a TRUE V16, it's really two V8's that share a common block.
oh dear lord where in fucks name did you learn that the veyron is from italy its from the volkswagen engineers that bought buggati name some time ago and v16 is 16 cilinders in v shaped formation right?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
this is hilarious. i can't believe how bad automotive tech was in these days. 16 cylinders and 540 bhp. the veyron almosts doubles that stock, and it could be improved
But why do you need 500 hp more to generate an acceleration of only 1 second less from 0-60?
In that times with 1000 hp you could have done the 2.2 like the hayabusa in a car.
Just look at the Ferrari F40 for example.
It also could accelerate in under 4 seconds to 60 mph.
And how many of the supercars are today under 4 seconds in compare to that times, so they were better, but much more dangerous and not half as comfortable, but generally faster.
Its not that automotive tech was bad, its that they did a lot of backing off of potential "just in case". I dunno how much the Cizeta is capable of pushing, but I've seen Countach's twin-turbo'd without touching the bottom end, doubling the factory output.
And when you have AWD eating all that power, you do need twice the power for an extra second.
Heck, the Ariel Atom gets to 60 in under 3 seconds and thats on maybe 300HP. It also weighs neigh on nothing....
Thank You for posting this. I was a fan of the Cizeta the first time I read about it and heard that one of my favorite songwriters (Giorgio Moroder) was behind the brand. Too bad it didn't survive. Lamborghini copied the design to a great degree although in a lesser car.
Cizeta Automobili srl of Modena, Italy, was a car manufacturer set up in the late 1980s by Claudio Zampolli (an Italian Ferrari dealer) and the record producer Giorgio Moroder.
The cizeta isn't ugly... the only thing I ton't like is the side grill, which in the 1990s producion models was better (it was inspired by the Ferrari Testarossa's one). In the late models they used another air intake design... it feels bigger and completely ruined the shape.
Did you know, this car was called the Cizeta Moroder V16T. Moroder is the name of an artist who made the first discomusic songs. All the "Flashback" radio in GTA LCS contains songs by him. He gave the money to do this car.
Eventhough a bad job, this bodyshell did actually generate the Diablo design.
Diablo itself was not that beauty but undeniably a way better about volumes'balance.
On my op.Gandini signed some among the most beautiful cars ever: Carabo,Iguana,Manta, Miura,Bravo and Countach. So,I guess he had mandatory firm points when styling this
meaningless thing (correctly underrated
by the italian sportcars market since its appearance).

Babe, do your homework. This came out before the Diablo. Gandini designed the body with Claudio's input and then used similiar characteristics later when he designed the Diablo. Now what do you think?
@jurasko it was designed by the same people that designed the lambo. they took there design to lambo and lambo smoothed it out to make the diablo. the design house was mad, and took the design to cizeta. cizeta altered it a bit so a v16 woud fit, and sold it.
Its one of the all time greats that no one has actually heard of

Cizeta are apparently still going strong in the USA, but build cars to order.
I'd have one for the sake of being different.
They haven't updated their website or the car since, and by todays standards it's very under powered. so they're not doing themselves any favours.
