  • I thought the most common cause for bacterial meningitis was Neisseria meningitidis

  • N. meningitidis is most common for ages 2-18 years, but S. pneumo is most common overall.

  • @ramiarabas The chains can be connected diplococci and you can also see some pure diplococci.

    Mixed S pyogenes with S pneumoniae is also possible
