  • I love the car, but you need to throw on some borlas or something. I sounds a bit like a redneck truck when idle. Beautiful car though:)

  • i heard that if u get rid of the mufflers on a c6 base..youll loose hp and low end torque overall..is that tru do to lack of back pressure

  • @sharpshot i have a c4 vette with no mufflers with only a resonator it sounds way better than some flowmasters which were on my car when i got it so i removed them because it sounded like a truck and that what i call sounding like shit this sounds good till it shifts

  • If I lived near you I'd be keying your car.

  • No, I have a good friend that tunes the car to correct any problems.

  • Sounds good, I was thinking about doing this to my 2005 Vette. Any problems throwing codes or with the O2 sensors?

  • Loud exhaust are annoying as fuck when they sound like shit example ^^^ this covette.

  • @sharpshot411 - YOU WISH YOU COULD HAVE A CAR LIKE THIS...

  • Used to run my camaro with no mufler, just a pipe. Stock manifolds, cats, and no muffler is louder than long tubes, no cats, and 3" exhaust!

  • @10072018 I have a WS6, my buddy has a Z28. I paid a couple hundred for a loundmouth 2, he just ran straight pipes with stock mani's and cats. I like his better!

  • @10072018

No its not your fucking stupid get get real.

  • It's not as loud as I thought it would be. I love all the exhaust engineers you have commenting about your video......Folks it's ok the mufflers unbolt right next to the transaxle at the rear of the car......It almost seems as if GM made it easy for us corvette owners to unbolt the mufflers.

  • At the risk of getting chewed apart on here I have to ask why anyone would want to run any street car especially a c5 Vette without mufflers? Seems pretty juvenile to me. Also despite of the comments about EFI not needing back pressure. That may be true, and it will do it's best to adjust. With that being said these cars are never meant to run without proper exhaust . Mechanically it may not hurt, but electronically you are setting youself up for a world of hurt. GM would laugh at this.

  • @bjsage "electronically" it won't do a damn thing to harm it, all the O2 sensors through out the exhaust, the only ones that matter are before the cat, after the cat the only purpose of the O2 sensor is to tell the computer that the cat is working properly, if you take your cat off, it throws a code that says "catalyst failure" which does nothing to the engine parameters. Even so all it will do is trigger a "service engine soon" light which again harms nothing. O2 simulator defeats that SES.

  • @GMisurdaddy Whatever you can think what you want. but maybe the reason the computer tells you things like "service engine" or what you said "catalyst failure" is because you shouldnt be doing what your doing? You can agree with me or not, but I still stand by my opinion that anyone who buys a 60k + car and drives around with no mufflers is quite simply immature. I for one would not fuck around with a computer in a car worth that kind of money regardless if you think it doesnt matter or not.

  • @bjsage LOL nah, that's why I bought an O2 simulator for my bonneville when I took the cat off, you can search any forums about any modifications, I would research before assuming anything, it does nothing to harm them I assure you lol

  • @bjsage your "opinion" and "facts" are two different things

  • @GMisurdaddy like I said agree with me or not. I dont care what you did to your Bonneville. Simply put I think it's stupid, and you dont. I wouldnt take any risk on a vehicle worth that much money, and maybe you would. Who really cares. You telling me over the internet that Iam wrong isnt going to make my opinion change about how dumb it is. If you dont then thats your business. Im not the only one to think so by the way.

  • @bjsage Exactly, it's what YOU think, "opinion" and "fact" are two different things. If it harmed anything I think we gearheads would have found out by now, seeing that the LS1 has been out for 14 years now, and electronic controls have been around for much longer than that. If I were you I would learn about engines, controls and engine management before "assuming" things that just aren't true.

  • @GMisurdaddy ok whatever. Im not arguing with anybody over the internet. It is what I think so dont let it bother you so much. If you think Im an idiot than so what. Im not going down this road with you. If you cant handle my opinion than to bad. Just because something hasnt happened to your knowledge or what you have read on the internet does not make it fact. Because you say it hasnt happened doesnt mean it wont. You dont agree, so dont msg me again because Im not going in circles with you.

  • @bjsage LOL hasn't happened to ANYONES knowledge in 14 years! LOL, Your ignorant uninformed comments are getting old and boring. Have a nice day! :)

  • @GMisurdaddy Dont message me again

  • love this sound i took all the mufflers out 2 bc its sound like fucking awesome and i have Acura RSX type R 5 speed really looks beast

  • Uh... Thats highly illegal.... BUT HIGHLY AWESUM :D

  • @713slipkn0t713 I wouldn't call it highly illegal, i mean it's not like robbing a bank or some shit. In most states it's just a fine.

  • @713slipkn0t713 its not illegal, not having cat converters is illegal

  • @yoyoappled no, no this is illegal. decibel levels

  • @713slipkn0t713 its only illegal to u get caught

  • that vette roar like a lion too powerfull. !!!

  • Sounds like a fucking MONSTER!!!!

  • you know that makes the car slower right? you need backpressure

  • @shelbysc450 Incorrect sir, you do not need back-pressure on EFI. Back-pressure was needed for a carburetor to avoid burning exhaust valves, but it is not needed or wanted (for power) on EFI due to the computer can easily and quickly modify the fuel load in conjunction with the o2 sensors. More back-pressure on EFI = more fuel needed to run at the desired 14.7:1 air-to-fuel ratio and consequently less power. Less back-pressure means less fuel load needed to run at 14.7:1 ratio and more power.

  • @Qweklain Well thanks for making the rest of us feel dumb......dick jk

  • That lucky dog sitting shotgun got a cool ride!!

  • @whipit4me lol good eye

  • the downshift is crusule

  • you are gonna kill that motor no back pressure!

  • amazing sound! did you feel the gains as soon as they took them off? I deff did when i did it to mine =)

  • I just lost my muffle today.. thats what my cavalier sounds like :).. just not as mean

  • sounds like shit. IMO a healthy cam and some hi-flo mufflers sounds much better.

  • sounds like shit

  • why would you take a performance car and make it slower just to make it loud?

  • @mseebs Cuz this is America, bitch.

  • would be perfect if it was manual

  • Thank you so much for posting this video! I been looking for a sample of a C5 Vette with the mufflers removed, and replaced with pipes, but keeping the cats in. I did it to a few Mustangs in the past. Great sound, better performance - all for cheap. The exhaust smell gets really annoying and sickening, when the cats are removed.

  • @teppili & @suicidesucks08 Um...and WTF do you drive? Probably a fucking 3 cylinder Geo Metro with a wing and a fart can and some faggish AutoZone graphics on the side. Fucking ricer. I bet this thing could launch in 5th gear and blow the doors off your beater.

  • is this thing cammed?

  • stock; poor!

  • sounds like my grand papys pick up truck :)

  • My c4 has straight pipes from the cats back and is nowhere near as loud as that!.. I know it's a different generation but damn!

  • sounds like an 87 turd

  • itz a fucking flow master the mufflers are on the bottom

  • @1skramer they arent connected. the flowmasters on my LS1 sound nothing like that..thats disconnected at the headers.

  • Real Cool!

    Love my C5 6 speed!

  • great sound :))

  • I dont know....it sounds nice but come on its a vette put a little class in it and put on some flow masters or somethin

  • Sounds nice. I had no muffler on my monte for a while. my neighbors didnt like it.

  • I didnt have a muffler for a while on my nissan, but that wasnt on purpose...

  • A lovely sound.

  • is it slower now? I did same to my vette and seems slower now...

  • @kooobideh It jus might have been. A lot of car makers tune the exhaust to help pull gases from the front. When i replaced one of my fallen off mufflers it seemed faster! lol

  • AWESOME!!

  • that sounds..... gorgeous!

  • LOL I LOVE tuners 2 but the guy bellow is a dumm fuck. C5 GTO and supra are my favs

  • you are kidding right? fucking ricers

  • its ok you can't even spell terrible so we won't even consider you competent enough to comment on our cars. We have nothing wrong with imports its the fact that you guys think putting 4 inch mufflers on a 1.5 inch downpipe is cool when it sounds like my grandma farting. And you guys think you sound cool.

  • @chineesmunk... when you have to buy a honda do they give you free rice to make you feel better... they should give you a special pot so you can cook it on your boomtube... I bet that would just taste amazing!

  • @chineesmunk Fuck you're weedwhacker import.

  • Thanks for showing what my 99 would sound like. There always a little louder in black.

  • sorry dude... sounds like a farm truck get some class

  • interior drone?

  • you can't beat this muffler set up

  • @midgetmayo What muffler set up hehe if u get what im saying!! xD

  • it kinda sounds like a c5r when its accelarating good sound but i did it with my mustang and its cool for bit but man it get anoying

  • damn straight my other car has a nasty oil leak and is garaged at the moment and I am fixing to take my vette just like this (but zo6) on a 5/6 hour trip. not looking forward to this at all.

  • just think about how long it took for your neighbors got annoyed :P

  • @lbm323 they make dynamat for that. lol

if it was me i would just go for electric cut outs for whenever im in the mood for wakin up the neighborhood

  • @lbm323 Yeah mustangs do get annoying, dont they? ;)

  • lol auto but sounds good besides that

  • i got an 04 vette and i was thinking about taking the mufflers off but wasnt sure what kind of damage i would be doing to the motor or the under carriage. Can anyone give me advice on whether i should or not

  • Based on my experiences with my 03 Z06, the only damage that will occur is to your hearing. I'd say do it.

  • It's exactly like kud4u said; reduced back pressure can cause suction that holds open the exhaust valves, screwing up the timing, valves, pistons, etc. My advice would be getting a pair of electric cutouts, because they're easy to install and you can turn them on and off, so if you want open headers you can but if you want the mufflers on you can do that too, and be able to switch in between.

  • @lagrange88 keep the mufflers on after a day or two without mufflers you will hate it

  • c5 w/ open exhaust!!! my dream

  • IDK if you hooked up turn downs but i did this for a weekend show, well i decided to hit the track day. I melted the rear fiber glass rear spring.... Yeah... haha so be careful atleast run turn downs.

  • I just did this to my 02 yesterday, but when i was try to take the right bank off, I couldn't fit the flange past the oil pass. So i cut the pipe at a 45 degree angle, then i did the same thing to the left side and just flipped the flanges over and pointed them at the ground to make a redneck turn down lol.

  • would it still melt them if your just driving under normal conditions? and just to make sure you just disconnected them at the flanges and ran them open from there?

  • back pressure myth lives!!! LOL As long as you are not running heads only with no exhaust manifolds/headers you're fine... heheh. If you do burn a valve you're running way to lean and need a tune :P

  • Well come down to texas and tell that to us flat trackers...If your running the cats you will be fine....Maybe I should throw that in so I dont sound like a fool......

  • Sounds good but you can suck a valve running around with out back pressure.

  • Is that true? Care to explain more?

  • If your running a high compression motor under load without back pressure (mufflers) or at least restrictive headers. the suction can create positive force holding open your exhaust valves longer than they are designed to and can cause valve/Piston damage....SOMETIMES....I have experienced this running flat track outlaw a few times .I solved the prob by using a pair of cats off a 95 crown vic hallowed them out and made a very simple baffle with 2 1/2 inch tube... (poor mans)

  • Sounds bad ass. :)
