  • I was born and raised on the chiricahua reservation! and how true this!!!!!!!!!

  • song doesnt play right. it keeps stopping and playing, instead of playing thru like it should. dont get me wrong, i love this song.

  • @MrIDKnow As I stated the time for sorrys has passed. The Natives of North America neither need or want our approval or excuses. Your lack of being happy with what you have shows where your mind is.

To Rebel tso-s-da-nv-tli Keep up the good work.

  • @stradamorin Who on Earth said I'm not happy? I have that stuff because it's exactly what as much as I want to have.

What does that tell you about where my mind is, bright boy?? you don't have a clue.

And, just so you're clear, I'm NOT sorry for that. I was making fun of political correct thought. But you didn't pick that part up, did you bright boy?

Get a life and make sure you don't try to take anything from mine. I'm at least as American as anybody on the planet

  • I'm Cherokee myself. some poeple have the guts to say racist comments to me and tell me I am worth nothing. well, it shows we are much stronger if we live here fr thousands of years, and even survived the white mans plague. these people should think before they talk. thank you for posting this by the way, very nice

  • You can say sorry till the mountains wear flat. The continuing need for sorry's and pity is over it servers no purpose now. The time has come for fulfillment of promises made and for control and power balance to shift so that the Natives of North America have a powerful say in what happens in North America. Canada and the USA. The greed and fight must stop or man's world will end.

  • @stradamorin convince me that I did something wrong and I'll be sorry. When american imperialists where mistreating and abusing your ancestors centuries past European imperialists where mistreating and abusing my ancestors in Europe. I have small truck and a computer worth more than the truck, and nothing else. Don't tell me I've been exploiting anybody. And if we're redistributing power then I get some too.

  • @MrIDKnow oh wait! I wasn't being very politically correct there. Maybe I should be sorry for that.

I've always thought this version of the sont is pretty cool

but I've always wondered too: this song says, "took away our ways of life, tomahawk and bowie knife"

I thought some European guy named James Black made one for James Bowie in about 1830 in Arkansas then made a bunch more and sold them. But maybe he stole the ancient design, and metallurgy technology, from the Cherokee.

  • @MrIDKnow We went fishing here in Florida not far from an Indian reservation and what a bunch of stoned drunks . So much for any pride .

  • cherokee nation will return

  • native are still living in the history

  • LOL if you tresspass on an Indian reservation anywhere in Nevada you will be lucky if the Indians beat the hell out of you. Carson City Nevada has a gang of about 30 Indians all wearing red go bar to bar getting drunk and fighting. When the police get called they scatter and go back to their reservation where local police and Sheriffs are not allowed as long as they make it there they do not get in trouble.

  • well so do a 1000 other people whats your point...................go bar to bar getting drunk and fighting just go to show you how smart we are

  • You seem like you can't read. What point was I making? You must not know. Shows how smart you are. ;)

  • @TheAthol Can you blame them? It is their land.

  • The Native American people are loved and embraced by America. It was a long time coming but they finally got the respect! What would our country be with out them the beautiful Indian people who are the mothers and fathers of our beautiful America? May they live forever and their beautiful red faces always stay so we may look upon them and never ever forget their sacrifice. Love you Native Americans! STAY NATIVE!

  • Every word in this song is TRUE and every white person knows it too ........Iam a white woman and I still feel shame for what my kind did to the true American.all I can ask of you is OUR forgivness..........Lassie

  • How very shallow of you.....to group "white man" into one category...i feel terrible for what happned yes but im not about to apologize for something that I nor did my family have any part of....."your kind" thats disgusting.....i have white skin but i have some mohican blood.....stop the segregation thats the problem.....espically in todays age when we all have such a mixed background of "race".... if you feel so bad get off of thier land...until then be quiet!

  • WELL SAID Lassie. I am also a white Woman, and you have spoken the TRUTH!

  • stop all your quibbling and just listen. those who know the deal, know what happened. as with all oppressions,it is never right nor forgotten. people have made it "the way it is" unfortunately.that goes for any group!

  • Sequoya's modern writing system could have been okay, if the white men hadn't started printing Bibles and US propaganda pamphlets in Cherokee. As well, many history books lie about the ways of life of many of the Tribes, like that there was no recorded history amongst the Tribes. There certainly was, the Spanish just burned most or usually all of it!

  • The power that the establishment holds, is in the fact that they created the population by process of immigration. Give a starving desperate man food and shelter and he won't care where it came from. sad but true!

  • My great uncle was full cherokee. Its a shame he was killed. Had one too many to drink, walked out the bar door, into the highway, and got run over. Sad.

  • Great Video!!!

    Deo Vindice

    ---Eagle Feather

  • Beautiful images

  • Why do I care? because, I am of native descent and I nor any of the people of these lands gained any benefit from the pillage and exploitation of the Colonizers and their descendants. Our ways of life have been shattered, I am trying to pickup the pieces and not let the wisdom of my ancestors disappear that is why!

  • Good! I hope you are not a follower of any of the 3 religions of Abraham and stuck to your original religion.

  • Here is the summary:

1492 Columbus lands in the Caribbean, his men rob and rape the women and treat the natives like dogs.

1500's Hernan Cortez and his lieutenants plus Pizarro destroy the nations of Mexico, Central and South America

1800's the rich landowners of European descent feed us crap like "Indians are backwards, Indians are stupid" this continues on to this day, while they brush off any accusations by saying "that happened so long ago, why do you care?"

  • Don't forget Spain's contribution to rape and murder!

  • Oh dont get me started on what the Spanish did because I could write a whole book. I was going to mention that here, but it would stray from the subject of this video. I guess a summary wont hurt:

  • It is horrible to see how true history is whitewashed and an artificial map is devised with all its bold lines and dots and Natives only thought of about during thanksgiving, Where is the real map? They have tried to hide it with the sweat and tears of the very people they tried to erase from the face of this land.

But as long as there is one Native on this Turtle Island and the blood runs in his or her veins, that will never happen.

My respect to the Cherokee people,

  • Nice video, I like to see that there are people who are still active in the struggle to liberate their homeland from the usurpers. I lived near the Qualla boundary of North Carolina and every time I would go there and sit at Oconaluftee island park and see the cars pass by I would think about how a cherokee feels to live on a tiny speck of land that was salvaged from the greedy hands of the invaders.

  • The Cherokee could have taught the white man things much more important than anything the white man taught American Indians! Nice job!

  • fukking brits, there comes a day wait and see

  • I commend you on your amazing video and resplendent celebratory Native American art, photography, and imagery. Many of us who were children in the 1970's remember the "Raiders" song as one of the first songs about Native American pride and injustice to make it to the top 40, and although campy now, like Half Breed, you take it to a new level! Migwitch! (Cree blessings to you!)

  • Good intertribal mix were all in this together!hey they tryed to take our black hills almost 50yrs before the Pahasapa so all our people have suffered some sadly are still We Have Learned something to!

  • all love & respect to Native Americans, if we remember history, we all live on their land they are the real original Americans, the rest of our familys all originate from somwhere-else. PEACE!!

  • I'd like 2 know where you got the beautiful pix from...

  • I LOVEit...This is TOTALLY awesome...I was looking for the song...and found your video...Thank you...I am Cherokee...researching history...etc...

  • Great Job Rebel. Thanks for sharing.

  • thankyou (aka night wolf)

  • Love it!
