I played the first Gears this Winter... It was a terrible, terrible experience and I'm not sure why I even finished it. The cover system is buggy and frustrating, the environments couldn't be more repetitive, the AI is horrible, the story is dumb... It's high reviews upon release must have been based mainly around graphic supremacy... which is understandable since the game STILL looks great graphically but to me it didn't hold up at all playing it several years down the road.

I personally find Gears to be mediocre. It's not a completely bad game, in fact, it's good that it takes elements of other games such as the cover based system from Kill Switch, and puts its own little spin on it. But there's something about the game that just makes it...boring. There's been numerous times where I've fallen asleep playing the campaign, and no, I was never tired beforehand. I didnt find the multiplayer to be any better either. But at least it had bots.

I think one of the coolest things about this video game live at E3 is Yasunori Mitsuda will be there. He is actually going to partake in the meet and greet after the show. I think one of my biggest gaming accomplishments is I would love to meet the man in person just once in my life.

The gameplay is a matter of running down corridors, ducking behind cover. That's it.
