  • Free the Cuban millions. A whole nation living under the slavery of communism.

  • you no nothing of cuba! Cuba is the most democratic country on this planet! Free the billions of people living under capitalist wage slavery!

  • You are a slave to your Marxist ideology. Cuba is an island prison with nothing resembling a democracy.

  • Why? They have elections, the only difference is that theirs work from the ground up, unlike america's plutocracy, where every 4 years we're given two new rich people to vote for. They are the most democratic nation on earth, and anyone who tells you different is full of shit, or has been brainwashed by someone who is full of shit

  • They have what can only be generously described as sham elections. They have had the same sadistic brothers running the country for 50 years.

  • And you get your information where? Fox News and Jesus? Look at the statistics before and after the revolution.. Education, health care level is on one of the world's highest, crime rate, drug abuse - are one of the lowest. Cuba is doing great in sports, and would be doing great economically if not for the US blockade, numerous sabotages, and terrorist attacks. If you want sources i would be more than happy to give them to you. (I'm talking about UN and other organization documents)

  • I don't believe in God, but I do sometimes watch Fox News. Cuba is a hell hole. If it was the paradise you describe, we would see people making homemade rafts to brave the ocean for a chance to reach Cuba and communism.

  • Cuba as a country is poor, but the things they produce are cheep enough for the Cubans to perches. The problem is with the things Cuba cannot produce, it has to import. But US has a secondary embargo (If you are from another country and have a business and you do business with US,and you want to do business with Cuba, you have to choose between USA or Cuba). All the major companies are doing business with the USA, and if they have to choose they will choose the US because it has a larger market.

  • EU law makes it illegal for EU citizens to obey the Helms-Burton act.

Than there is the problem of petroleum.

1.)Oil influences the price of everything, most important food. (transport)

2.) Oil is sold in US $. So to buy it you have to have trade with the US (thats how countries obtain foreign money). You sell goods to the US and get $ for which you buy oil.

3.) Cuba has to sell something to the US to get $. because the embargo Cuba has to sell very cheep just too get $.

  • Maybe its time for Raul to ditch communism

  • Cuba wanting to go a path of socialism is it's choice. US embargo and demanding to change it's political and economical system is illegal. Why do US care about weather Cuba has socialism? Why not lift the blokade? because the US fears that socialism works..as it has worked during the post revolution era. Thats why! The fact that Americans do not notice that European countries are social democracies, and work perfectly fine! Maybe US should change?

  • Socialism works? No, it has never worked anywhere. In Cuba, it has led to poverty and oppression. The true will of the people can never be known as long as the communists maintain and undemocratic stranglehold on power. Do you think a Cuban is free to print and speak loudly against socialism? Of course not.

  • The blokade led to "poverty", but still the situation is allot better then in other Latin American countries+ the quality of health care and education. The Un 18 years votes against the embargo..Evry nation exept USA, Israel and Palau voted against the embargo. and the only opresion commes from the foreighn, illegal intervention of USA.

1.) Read about socialism, social-democricy and then speek on a public forum.

  • 2.) Capitalism doesn't work.(Actally it doesn't even exist) What You have in the US is not capitalism, free market, equality (some form of poliarchy). The US survives on cheep chineas(children) labour. The country doesn't produce anything because you cannot afford to produce it in US, because the price would be so high that noone would buy it!

I think that there should be NO US intervention in Cuba. US has damadged the Cuban economy from the very beggining of the revolution (47-years)!

  • Capitalism has raised the world's standard of living tremendously over the past few hundred years. This is a fact.

  • First don't call this capitalism it's far from what it was suppose to be. Second at what cost? "Capitalism" exists because of the cheep labour.. Most of the world dies of hunger!!!To feed this machine of Corporate Poliarchy. Because if the third world countries were rich they would not work for a "bowl of rice" thus making the prices higher.. The corporations sell you products that cost less to produce then the materials. They own the media so they tell you what you need to know and must think.

  • Everything you said is a good thing. Workers in the poor countries can continue to live as they have for generations, or they can take a low paying job in the city. Countless millions choose option 2. This is good for them, and good for people who can now buy the cheaper goods. Of course corporations (or anybody) sells goods for more than they cost to produce - its called profit! Why else do the work?

  • The workers (very often kids) are forced (because of the circumstances) to work i labourcamp like factories. The production cost is so low that it is cheaper than the cost of raw materials. There is no "choice"! It's like saying that Palestynians have a choise of living in horrible conditions, fearing death etc. or leave their country, or "either you suck my d..k or i will shoot you". Those are not "choices". Because they force you to do things you would normaly not do!

  • The only one who benefit, are corporations. They could sell their product allot cheeper and make them better quality ,and pay the workers decent money..but that would mean making less money..Thats why the final product is made from cheep materials, is overpriced, and the people work in horrible conditions for 14 cents/day. The corporations don't care about quality..Call the custom service of any corporation and you will find out the guy is in Pakistan, India, and he speaks little English..

  • wrong. If the workers were not better off, then they would not continue to work in the factory. I know its hard for a Marxist to understand, but it is possible for both parties to gain from an exchange of goods and/or labor.

  • It is not in the interest of Corporations to give people more money. If the factories would pay people decent money, and had decent conditions, they would still want to work in them. But the people there have no choice.. Read the reports about labour conditions in China, Pakistan etc. and ask yourself what kind of a choice they have..

  • Again, without capitalism, the people can work in the fields as they have for thousands of years. With capitalism, they can choose to work in a factory in a city. Countless people chose options 2. If they did not prefer the option, they would not chose it. Under any definition, capitalism has increased people's choices.

  • When I call a customer service dept, I always hope to hear an Indian accent. They are smart and capable, unlike the fat ladies from the American south who are the other option.

  • The reason corporations export "customer service" is because hey can pay less in India. It is Not based on quality. Sometimes those people don't know English, or lack the knowledge..Because not the quality is essential but the cost..They don't want to spend money on training them, just let them know the minimum..

  • in fact, the people who work in the call centers over in India, Burma, etc., are usually highly educated, far more educated than their US counterparts. Of course the companies could spend more on these call centers, but then the goods would cost more. You think Castro has call centers for people to complain about the crap goods and services that his government gives the Cuban people?

  • of course they have a choice. They can continue to work the fields as the have for generations (including any child old enough to walk), or they can take a job in a factory. Communists have no choices.

  • Cuba was one of the richest nations in the western hemisphere before the revolution. While communism can never create wealth, the Cuban communists have managed to preserve a bit of it.

I have read extensively on all variants of leftist thought. All lead to expanded state control, oppression, and often massive death.

  • Cuba was a one crop, feudal type (colonial type) of country. The wast majority of land was in the hands of Americans. Mafia ran the cities. There was a great illiteracy problem. The Batista regime was an unpopular (puppet pro US communist) regime. (90% of businesses was in hands of Americans) All the main media was in US hands.Batista didn't allow the elections to be held because Castro would win. There were massive protests which ended in bloodshed, imprisonment and torture. Search on wikipedia.

  • EU is a social-democracy.. It works believe me. Besides what is the US government scarred of if it doesn't work? Why doesn't id just give Castro the chance? The US have no legal and moral right to pressure Cuba to change their economical system. This is undemocratic. The things that US did are qualified as war crimes, and terrorism past. Look up the definitions. The limitation of freedom of speech is due to the US propaganda, and the untrustworthy position towards the US government.

  • of course they will
