  • Respect, it's a long way to the red-white belt

  • lol at 1:21 "get back over here" what a bitch...lol

  • wtf the other bloke went down str8 away n whats with the old geezers

  • as de means of self defence, thank you

  • First, people don't grab you by the sleeve. They get you from behind in a choke hold.

Secondly, I think judo is great but this guy cannot move at all.

  • @clearcombat Go sit down and show some respect clownshoe. They are demonstrating a traditional application of ude gatame. Your approval is not needed.

  • Waseda, and there he was taught the techniques of classical Jiu-Jitsu. Even a superficial research of the man will make you aware of this fact. He went around the world proving his art to be superior to every other, at a time when, paradoxically, the art was disappearing, obfuscated by the explosion of younger sibling Judo. He studied Judo with Jigoro Kano who was himself Jiu Jitsu trained.

  • Many inhabitants would move to Tokyo or other cities to try and make money and escape the cold.Maeda remained there till 1886, when he finally moved to the capital. While he resided in Aomori, he went to Hirosaki school, of the local elite, where he was known as the “sumo-kid,” because of his fascination for the art his father had taught him. And, of course, for the several fights he would win against school mates. As he arrived in Tokyo, Maeda entered a high-class university, nowadays called

  • is this legal in tournament?

  • John Anderson is a living legend!

  • hahaha How would a retirement nurse handle that kind of situation if he put him/her in that arm lock during a walk ? Amnesia gone wrong

  • @KKJae187 Amnesia? That term signifies that you canot recollect a memory. How can amnesia go wrong when a memory canot be qued, for example, and arm lock. Think about it, lol.

  • @runhorun haha well I was just sayin that if a nurse was escorting one of the old men from the video at a retirement place and All of a sudden he freaks out and uses the move on the nurse or something.

  • @runhorun haha well I was just sayin that if a nurse was escorting one of the old men from the video at a retirement place and All of a sudden he freaks out and uses the move on the nurse or something. haha maybe amnesia wasn't a good choice of word to use.

  • this guy kills me ... with laughter

  • you can hear the guy telling him to get behind him.

  • @WingmanMagic lol

  • gotta love old men doing very slow poorly executed martial arts

  • @lawrencearbery lol i was think the same thing!

  • @lawrencearbery so you are a claiming these guys don't know what they re doing? You say they are doing poorly, but you don't know what martial art they are doing. How old are you anyways? Ignorance....

  • ummmm...just why would "someone" grab my sleeve as I'm walking down the street? What street does Mr Miyagi live on?

  • Respect de dojo jigoro kano op de achtergrond!

Maar staande armklemmen in de wetstrijdt bij judo ano 2010 verboden!

  • I bet that must hurt like a sunuvabitch. Respect.

  • crap

  • TOTALZ WRONG

  • @ Juillardl

    Lies...

  • I tried this move on one of the tuffest school bullies at school who everyone hated until he started crying. Once the tears poured down his face and he was still on the floor I kicked him in the face.

  • A CONTINUATION OF LAST COMMENT: After a few teeth fell out I bashed his head on the wall. When i was sure he was unconcious I had my friend to help me lift his body and throw him in the dumpster. After an hour or two i had a UFC fighter go get him in the dumpster and he pulled off one of his arms then another one. He gave me and my friend each an arm and we started slapping his face with it. At first I didnt really like it but now i think it's going to be a great year of kindergarden.

  • @Juillardl Okay u need a shrink and if u truly understood the motives of martial arts, u wouldnt have taken it that far. youre a joke and an embarrassment to the martial art community.

  • nice video on arm lock lol doesnt work in street fights,I have been punch in the face while i am lock his arm

  • Comment removed

  • Works if you do it right.

  • is it hard to do?

  • Takes practice but what doesn't?

  • Jacking off.

  • do it fast enough. ive used my jiu jitsu training to get me through a few fights

  • Obviously you did it totally wrong because there is noway anyone can reach you with a punch if this is done correctly.

  • @Santazclausz

try breaking their arm. it doesn't sound nice, but it's not a controlled environment like practice or even a tournament. they are trying to punch you, so you break their arm. or you can always practice chokes, it's cleaner because it doesn't leave anything broken if done right.

  • Judo is pretty cool I am practicing Jiu Jitsu for 3 years now i still have the 1. Kyu but I am going to get my first Dan next week.

Judo Rocks! Aikido Rocks! Karate Rocks!

    But Jiu Jitsu Rulez!

  • 3 yrs practise and you're already going to get black belt? That is unusually fast...

  • maybe... the best way you could do it is in 2 years there's ever a minimum of practicing time(months) and minimum trainings. 5.Kyu (6m - 40T) 4.Kyu (7m - 60T) 3.Kyu (8m - 80T) 2.Kyu (10m - 100T) 1.Kyu (12m - 150T) "1.Dan ( 24m - enough T) so its 2years and more this is quite good in 3 years but i train 3 times a week and 1 time condition and strength training each training 1 and a half hour. so they are about 900 hours of training for them 3 years. possible but hard!
  • What is this martial arts? They newer teach locks like this in judo to me, or is this techniques only for high trained judokas?

  • that´s judo....it´s a part of kansetsu waza (joint locks), but you have to know that even if you must know and train all of them, only armlocks are allowed in judo competitions, not finger, shoulder, spinal or leg locks are allowed...in judo you train all the locks and throws that exist in jujutsu, but you can only use a part of them in combat not tu injure your opponents as far as if you do it perhaps too strongly or quickly, you can damage opponents joints for ever ( a broken knee)...

  • it depends on the coach, some of them don't show you the locks until you got a couple of years of experience some do it right away. If you know people who are trainnig sambo or BJJ they can show these things to you, the techniques for arm locks are the same.

  • wow, these sturdy men look ripe in age.

  • fair enough i got owned

  • no; judo is derived from jui jitsu

    bjj is derived from judo

  • fair enough u won that

  • yeh but bjj would bang judo anyday

  • the fact is that most of competitions judo-bjj have demonstrated judo´s superiority ( and I´m black belt an blue belt respectively in both)....only thing I regret is there are not leg-locks allowed in judo :(

  • @gangster2triggaz hahahah fucker

  • get a bona?

  • @gangster2triggaz judo pwnz all other MAs

  • are you thick?

  • BJJ is derived from judo, but has also taken lots of japanese jujutsu and sambo locks and moves...

  • @f9hunter both derived from wrestling

  • @Fr3aKBG what? whats derived from wrestling

  • @f9hunter grapling martial arts

  • @f9hunter really? got proof of that

  • @Fr3aKBG are you just trying to show your ignorance?

  • @edbiology yes

  • @Fr3aKBG Traditional gi grappling(newaza) is not dervived from wrestling.

  • @f9hunter yes and no.....Jigoro Kano adapted judo from japanese jiu jitsu eliminating most of the strikes, punches, kicks and floor fighting so it could be practiced doing all the techniques without causing serious harm. He sent count Maeda to the americas(he started in the U.S), to teach this NEW art ...Judo. Count Maeda found his way to Brazil where he was helped by a man named Gracie to start a Japanese colony in Brazil as had been done in Peru. In return he taught this man's son ....

  • @luisgarcia28 Carlos Gracie Jiu Jitsu NOT judo. Carlos Gracie started teaching Jiu JItsu but his younger brother, Helio, was too frail... so he sat through the lessons and in his head modified the technique to require less strength and was based more on leverage so he could do it. As you see Count Maeda was a student of Jigoro Kano and originally his intent was to popularize Judo... but he taught the Gracies Jiu Jitsu of which he was also a student.

  • @luisgarcia28 Ure wrong. Maeda Taught Judo as per normal.

Stop tryin to skip the facts that BJJ derived from judo

For in the 1st place Maeda was Judo Trained and was never Jiu Jitsu trained. Helio wanted to focus more on ground work and modify the art to make it more ground work based. I am a more ground worked based Judoka. So i understand how Helio felt at that time. Im actually weaker than most people.

At that time Judo is called Kano Jiu Jitsu. Thus the name Gracie Jiu Jitsu was created.

  • @frostymourne You really should get your facts straight. Mitsuyo Maeda (1878-1941) was a martial arts prodigy who eventually became one of the greatest fighters in the history of Judo. Maeda originally practiced classical styles of Jiu Jitsu, eventually entering the Kodokan to study Judo. Maeda was born in 1878 in a small town called Aomori, located north to the Japanese island of Honshu and known for its freezing winters.

  • you are a good traner

  • Its good how all attackers kneel to the ground as soon as you grab the elbow. (Insert sarcasm here)

  • that dude would no doubt snap your arm without getting out of breath

  • he can try. and he can try and fail. if didn't want him to break my arm he wouldn't.

    1) i've done nothing to upset him. evidence against him and he looses his licence unable to teach or make a living.

    2) i'd like to see him try and break a Muay Thai fighters arm when they use closs combat techniques. notice they use both their arms to grab the opponent. he comes in i hook round with and elbow to the jaw then a right kick to the ribs = pain for old man R.I.P KO heart attack

  • Comment removed

  • not trying to start an argument. but being a schichidan he is more than adiment in takedowns and would take the muay thai fighter in close combat and would initiate newaza. 2nd if he broke your arm there would be no loss of license. you assume all risks when doing judo bjj or any other martial art. shoulda tapped. and yes they all go to their knees to relieve pressure from the elbow.

  • i wasn't trying to have a go at the video or anyone, sorry if i came across that way but a person started giving it all that in a private message by the first comment i made. i don't want to argue either and it was over 2 months ago now and i dont really care

  • look man, i don´t know how to tell you that, but against a muay thai fighter ( and i really respect that art), a grappler has all his chances....in close combat you throw him and do a crank.....or instead if he grabs you, you make a flying juji gatame......however all his articulations are targeted.

  • I made that post 4 months ago and really just don't give a shit with all these people trying to tell me I'm wrong.

There's an escape from any situation. Stamina is the winner in any bout.

    Your right and I'm right.

  • this is my favorite move and your a good teacher

  • he is to old to do judo!

  • geriatric judo...love it

  • ROTFL!!!!

  • hey I'm a judoka and have been training in Judo for about a year and a few months, I've been progressing slowly and am currently a yellow belt in the USJA, i was wondering what things I could do to speed up my progress? Are there any training exercises that I can do by myself that don't require randori or newasa, I also won't be able to train at a dojo during the summer because of my summer job, so this is why I was wondering about training exercises I could do by myself. thanks.

  • whats the diff between jiu jitsu and judo. ive always wanted to know

  • it's all in the ending of the words. -do and -jutsu. It's like Kendo compared to Kenjutsu; Iaido compared to Iaijutsu. i beliieeve, not positive. but i believe -do is the Way of (Focuses more on spiritual than killing) and -jutsu is the science of (usually the original style of the martial art, so meant to kill or maim.) jutsu jitsu i dono how it's spelled lol. but imo, i think when you find the jutsu schools they're the more legit schools.

  • hey im a judoka or 13 years now.

to speed up your progress there is only one method. increase the hours of training per week. the best way is to train every day. if you dont have time to go to the dojo you can do some tandoku renshu exercises at home. send me a PM if you wanna have some more detailed information. but you also have to go to the dojo to be taught waza. AND randori is necesary to acquiring judo. i know that in aikido the atitude about randori is another but in judo you have to

  • Mister Anderson.....

  • i started learning Judo last month

    this technique/s are very helpful

now i have an idea what to do during practice

  • kansetsu is not going to work for you it is very early fir you to do kansetsu waza

  • you cant use all of these moves in judo i,ve been doing judo for three years and you are only allowed to push the hand away armlocks can only be done on ground fighting.. Th

    ats what i think

  • rosa is the 10 beld

  • i trained judo for 15 years can you tell me how the 10th dan looks because they learned me the wrong way thanks for your reaction

  • buddy, after the 5 dan you can wear red and white belt

  • hey keep training because it seems you not even a black belt.

    What is Martial Art?

    Mr. Black Belt.

Or I should say Mr. Mc Black Belt (Mc Donals for Food. Mc Dojo for Martial art school)

  • the first to 5th dan are black. the sixth to eight is red and white and the ninth and tenth dan are red bushes.

But for reasons of respect if you have a sixth dan or red and white belt. and the teaching sensei in your dojo or at a seminar where you are going has the 7th dan which is the same colour, you have to wear a black belt to show that he is higher than you

  • how is it possible that this man has a white and red band that is the 10th black there is only one man in the world who has that and that is the maker higoro kano

  • lol?

that belt is for 6th-8th dan

and there are 3 people with 10th dan

yet the 10th dan is not the highest, kano said himself there is no reason why any man cant advance

  • solid red is 9th and 10th dan... i actually thinkthere are 8 10th dans

  • great
