um I went around mountains in Tennessee with my liberty going eighty and it doesnt flip so what ever people..... this guy really cannot drive, because if you know how to drive you will not flip, I have 3 friends as witness to that. (besides them slamming around the car like eggs due to my crazyness)
P.s. only accidents I get into is getting stuck...
I didn't say that a Civic could perform better, just saying that someone tried to drive this particular SUV like a idiot would attempt driving a Civic like a Corvette.
People can say what they want. I'm on my 2nd Liberty & I'll probably buy a 3rd when I'm tired of driving this one. I love it on the highway & I love it in the woods.
i hate people that come on here and bash a car that they probably don't even own. my 02 has 160,000 mile and still runs like new. and is a great 4x4 for those of us who want to go light off roading. if you don't like it then Fuck you!!!
Libertys can tip just as easily as any other SUV. It's not chryslers fault at all. if you don't know how to drive a SUV, don't drive it. they arent sports cars. i think it is important to note that the roof wasn't caved in (explorer)
just because someone flipped a Jeep Liberty doesn't mean all Liberty's flip easily. I own a 2004 Liberty and yes you can notice it's top heavy compared to a car but all SUV's are. I think it handles pretty well considering it's trucking nature.
Good enough reason. I've pulled out TJ's and JK's with my liberty. I've had no problems at all with it. But that is just my experience. Too bad you did not have a good one too. Take care man!!
i didnt try to say jeeps are terrible, the last sentence of my comment should set that straight. I understand that jeeps have short wheel base and ride high! i was young, stupid, (most likely still am) and some other factors were involved and i shouldnt have been...um...drinking but i understand where you are coming from, no beef! My dad still drives jeeps and id drive one if i didnt have my truck! so again jeeps arent terrible, if anything...the beast saved my life
Going 60 on a wet 35mph road and flipping doesn't make jeeps terrible... You have to understand that a short wheel base and high stance means to take it easy on the turns.
just wanted to jump into this 'jeeps are terrible' discussion...i rolled my '87 jeep cherokee 3 and a half times seconds away from my house, obviously a posted 35mph doesnt mean 60 on a wet night. i unfastened my seatbelt, fell to the roof, crawled out the busted window, walked home and said, "dad, call a tow truck!" so my opinion jeeps arent terrible!
Tall vehicles (jeep, trucks, suv) the center of gravity is higher meaning more likely to rollover during high speed maneuver. Please read the owners manual. That's why most 4X4 are made heavier coz of the rollover protection. My cousin wife rolled her jeep in the ditch (ice) with only seatbelt burn. Be greatful for the jeep that save your life without it's safety you wouldn't be here to write yor comment.
Again people never read the owners manual. You dont drive a ferarri off-road so dont drive the jeep like a ferarri on the road. Otherwise put a bumper sticker that says "If you can read this i'm upside down"
No, Jeeps aren't terrible. The people that get behind the wheel are terrible. I mean, the same can be said about any car. Don't be stupid. When it comes to a car, you gotta say "did they walk away..." and in most Jeep accidents, the answer is yes.
Because the liberty replaced the Cherokee in this country. And the Cherokee is 10 times more a jeep than that liberty is. The liberty was the stepping-stone to discontinue the 4.0L I6, which was the most dependable motor in the jeep lineup (300,000+ miles). The liberty was designed to make mini van people more comfortable in a "crossover" suv. Everyone thought Chrysler was going to ruin the Jeep name back in 87 when they bought out AMC. It may have taken 20 years but they are finally doing it.
it hit the left side embankment, with such momentum, and possibly helped by a full tank of gas or cargo in the rear, that the rear of the car lifted as the front lower passenger corner struck the abutment where it stuck out - causing the rear end of the car to lift, and spin, hence the rollover position. You wanna try NOT to hit those :)
If you can read this, roll me back over.

a better method is to use a 2nd tow truck to hold the vehicle from plopping down. although in this case it was totaled anyway.
