  • great teacher, never saw a moovie with him,i mean live pics exept some in his books

  • He was no con man and this is no cult. his thought had way too much impact on the western world to not be respected.

  • thanks so much for leaving this up. his music is powerful and marrying it to these home movies is poignant. this is one of the best things i've encountered on the internet.

  • Actually highly educated people are very easily conned if you play on their hubris. This is a cult with ulterior methods dressed up as "You are better than common man". In the end you are still used and a fool. As for de Hartmann's music. Second rate at best. A man only hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest (The Boxer)

  • It sure looks like Mr. G, but I didn't think they had color movies back then. I am a bit surprised.

  • Another great Armenian

  • Interesting how almost the entire film we see Gurdjeiff in the company of women.

  • @tjrxk7 it is always happend with enlightent Master, if Master is in Male body the majourity will be woman disciples around him, in India during the time of Mahavira, Buddha, always 1:4 ration for man and woman.

Even in this century the same ratio of disciples is with Osho.

  • @anand8manish Interesting. What would you say about Blavansky, who had said she 'hates the female' and was most probably a lesbian as per her very close relationship with that woman, Alice... that helped take over after Blavanskys' death? I recall a story when one man tried to 'rap' with her and she took on an almost violent offense to it. I do know she had said "There is nothing of the female in me!"...with almost a'vengence'. One must ask :"Why would they be incarnated into an opposite gender"?

  • i would love to see a miracle... something from another order of laws!!!!

  • @rjf19741 A "miracle", if any, will only appear after a long and hard work on yourself. Boa sorte!

  • @hardbossa haha!!! obrigado pela sua resposta.

foi bem gurdjieffiana! vou precisar de sorte.

os anos de tempo gasto com estas leituras

    não terão retorno!!! abraço

  • gurdjieffhas left much confusion.... i would like to have his knowledge well explained... he was trapped by the same problems of the other three ways

  • you can buy the music online, about 50-100 recordings of him playing in his apartment. the music is quite repetitive, the same scales being played over and over again. but it is alive and feels so terribly real to my heart. it has helped me through many hills of struggle in life.

  • Once Bennett said "initiates who WERE the demiurge" - how close he was to the truth! Gurdjieff was the demiurge, Lucifer.

Sometimes he was right, sometimes he was wrong, and sometimes he lied.

Has anyone noticed how much Ouspensky looks like a lizard?

  • Yes, he was a threat... a real threat to ones unconsciousness. People like to sleep, and they never like at first a man who is waking them up.... even if its youre grandmother

  • was or is Gurdieff the only smoking guru

  • No. sri nisargadatta smoked also.

But like Gurdjieff said. Don't look too the bottle but taste the wine in it.

  • yes of course he did, beautiful man Sri Nisaragadatta.

  • thank you for sharing this

  • yes, an interestng glimpse, but who are all the characters? and what was their relationship with G? and each other?

was G a genious who held the salvation of mankind in his hands, or a charlatan?

is it may be possible to be both?

  • What is your Plan on Inner development and the expansion of your own consciousness?

  • One shouldn't idealize anyone but God, but he must see a path needed for himself.U mate idealize weather u want to or not.U are just a mere reflection of the people around you, you are the one whose brain is sucked, as we are all.see the beggining of the path, see the direction and make it youre own, and it will be towards ureself.

  • There are many knock-off schools/cults from Gurdjieff, and you're right, they'll take you money if you're foolish enough to give it to them

. But, dude, just listen to that music, watch the movements, read. No con man ever created like that.

  • @akhaldanian lying -- something gurdjieff did, and new it was not really the exact opposite of truth -- isn't a sin. bearing false witness is.

  • @apathyinmortalform - greetings brother.

so for you bearing false witness and deliberately giving the false testimony is different from a lie.

please explain. this idea can be interesting.

to hide or withhold truth sometimes is necessary when it will meet with deaf ears.

and we might be on agreement with that.

  • @akhaldanian gurdjieff's music is awesome -- so was gurdjieff. he actually used tradition to create the unique. no student was ever quite the same -- and no two students were ever quite the same.

  • No, the people who were taught by Gurdjieff were very intellectual. They were not simple folks who are easily conned. They would not have continued with his teachings unless they were getting results, which they did.

  • They're not intellectuals rather simple and only because of that simplicity they could experience the transformation. Identification with the intellect is the greatest barrier for human consciousness.

  • On s'y croirait

  • The music is by Gurdjieff

I played objective music to make you cry, answered Mr. Gurdjieff to a question from Dorothy Caruso [see her A Personal History]. "There are many kinds of music—some to make laugh, or to love or to hate. This the beginning of music—sacred music, too, three thousand years old. Your church music comes from such but they don't realize. They have forgotten. This is temple music—very ancient."

  • excellent. des images rares. de l'émotion. l'air du temps...

  • the follow up is in the views from lincoln catherdral in englad uk.....gurdjieff the master seeking wisdom with his grace blessed walter james duff.....once based in milton keynes but now i think further south in portsmouth....excellent video thanks for sharing it with us......agape!!!!
